Pastor/Director of Worship Arts

Canyon Lake Community Church is located in a growing community in Southern California. We currently offer two distinct Sunday morning worship services, each with its own environment and style. We meet to honor Jesus for who He is, to celebrate all that He has done for us, and to take Jesus’ gospel of peace, hope, love and redemption to our homes, our neighborhoods and ultimately the world. The Pastor/Director of Worship Arts is a key leader in this endeavor.

The person who fills this position will have a personal passion for the Lord and be commited to God’s primary purpose for man – to exalt, honor and glorify God forever. This leadership role will require someone with a high degree of creativity, passion, and a deep desire to make disciples who worship God in spirit and truth. A successful candidate will be a good collaborator who possesses strong music skills, administrative ability, and significant audio/video/lighting knowledge. This person will possess strong inter-personal skills with a genuineness in order to recruit and shepherd volunteers, build teams, and to authentically invite and engage the congregation into the worship of our God.

     The person who fills this position will be:

     Leadership

• Provide spiritual leadership for the congregation through corporate worship experiences.
• Partner with the Lead Pastor in the creative preparation and practical development of all worship services and church-wide ministry events.
• Lead all team rehearsals (band, vocals, choir, orchestra, drama, video, etc.)
• Shepherd, mentor and disciple Worship Arts ministry members.
• Provide direction and oversight to the technical ministry leaders and teams.

     Creativity

• Possess the musical understanding and skill to provide oversight, direction and leadership for traditional and contemporary worship services.
• Coordinate with the Lead Pastor to design and organize worship service elements that meet the agreed upon objectives and facilitate the corporate worship of the congregation (choosing songs, rehearsing, preparing videos, designing an appropriate flow to the order of service, etc.).
• Collaborate with the Communication Team on the worship elements included in the online broadcast.
• Oversee the use of visual elements within our services (media, graphics, lighting, stage design, decorations, etc.)
• Envision, collaborate and design corporate church events, services, seasonal worship experiences and/or outreach opportunities, engaging ministry leaders and volunteers to accomplish the agreed upon objectives of these events.

     Administration

• Maintain and communicate a schedule for worship leaders, worship ministry volunteers, and tech crew members for each Sunday worship service and other corporate worship and outreach events of the church.  (Utilizing and maintaining records on Planning Center.)
• Organize and maintain the Worship Arts ministry resources (physical and digital music, instruments, equipment, costumes, props, etc.).
• Manage subscriptions, licenses and copyright permissions.
