Administrative Pastor
Position Description

Purpose
To assist in the leadership and pastoral care of White Mountain Bible Church. The primary role of the Admin Pastor is three-fold: (1) to manage the day to day business of the church, (2) to oversee and shepherd the staff and (3) to oversee and shepherd the ministry leaders/deacons of WMBC.

Supervisory Relationship
Reports to the Lead/Teaching Pastor and the Elders of WMBC.

Position Responsibilities
The following bullet points are to help clarify what typical tasks are involved in this role. 

Leadership

  • Partner with the Elders to promote spiritual growth within the Church. 
  • Promote and cultivate discipleship within the Church & evangelism outside of the Church. 
  • Involve, equip and develop volunteer leaders.
  • Provide oversight, direction and support to various ministry leaders.
  • Provide oversight and organization for Home Groups.
  • Oversee membership classes and coordinate membership process.
  • Oversee regular staff meetings.
  • One on one shepherding of staff and ministry leaders/deacons.

Administration

  • Manage the day to day operations of the church office.
  • Oversee contracts and general financial obligations of the church.
  • Oversee planning and management of church budget.
  • Oversee the management of the church database.
  • Oversee the management of effective ministry and church-wide communication.
  • Oversee regular staff reviews and evaluations and manage H.R. needs.
  • Oversee the use of the church facility.
  • Create and keep current policies and procedures for the church.
  • Other duties as identified.

Pastoral Care

  • Available in the church facilities to meet visitors, answer questions or give brief counsel.
  • Coordinate pastoral care/benevolence for those in need.
  • Provide Biblical counsel to those in conflict or crisis.
  • Labor in prayer for the Church.
  • Coordinate pastoral/elder visitation.
  • Coordinate weddings and memorial services.
  • Occasional preaching as the need arises.

In addition, there are a variety of pastoral care opportunities such as teaching classes, counseling, mentoring, leading short-term mission trips, etc.

Personal Qualifications

1 Timothy; 3:1-7; Titus 1:6-9.

A love for God and his church; devotion to Scripture, the true understanding and correct application of it; agreement with WMBC statement of faith and covenant of fellowship; mature; approachable and accessible; works well with others; integrity of work habits and results; able to discern needs and respond appropriately; aspires to serve others; takes appropriate initiative; follows direction well; efficient; sense of humor; team player.

Skills and Abilities

Needs to have good written and verbal communication skills. Needs to be well organized and give attention to details. Needs to be committed to building relationships with people. Needs to able to cast vision and give clear direction. Needs to be able to involve and lead volunteers.  Needs to be able to manage conflict assisting people to work toward peace and reconciliation. Needs to be competent in the use of computers and applicable software.

Education/Experience

Seminary or Bible College degree, ministry and administrative experience (at least five years).
