Evening Commitment: Minimum of one evening per week

Position Overview


The Local Missions Director oversees all local mission efforts within Frontline Church. In collaboration with church leadership, this role selects and develops local church partnerships, helps raise funds, and works to increase the church's engagement in local missions.

The Local Missions Director is also responsible for deepening the impact and connection of the Essentials Store, Hand to Hand, and any other local missions initiatives within the church community.

  • The Essentials Store is a ministry of Frontline Church that provides basic hygiene and cleaning products to the community at minimal cost. This position focuses on recruiting and empowering volunteers to manage the store’s operations while integrating its mission into the church's life. The Local Missions Director connects Essentials Store members to discipleship opportunities at Frontline and or other churches, especially those offering heart-language ministries for Essentials Store members. The Local Missions Director also collaborates with the Ministry Leadership Team to guide the ministry’s vision, including its scope, services, and outreach.
  • Hand 2 Hand is a ministry that provides food to children in local school systems so that they can take it home with them to help combat child hunger. 

This role requires strong relational and organizational skills, vision casting, and a passion for equipping others for ministry.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

    1. The number of volunteers and staff serving in the Essentials Store and other local mission opportunities increases.
    2. Funds raised for missions fund - quarterly targets
  • Strengthen and develop relationships with Hand2Hand school staff, administrators, and families.
  1. Small groups launched from the  Essentials Store in collaboration with the Discipleship and Connections Pastors.
  2. Number of members transitioning from receiving services to serving in the ministry.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Local Missions Oversight

  • Oversee all local mission efforts within Frontline Church.
  • Collaborate with church leadership to select and develop new and existing church partnerships.
  • Help raise funds for local missions and increase the church’s participation in these efforts.
  • Foster and raise the temperature of a missions-oriented culture within the church, including starting a missions advisory team.

Essentials Store Leadership

  • Oversee the overall operation and vision of the Essentials Store, directly or through volunteer empowerment.
  • Recruit, train, and empower volunteers to handle:
    • Ordering, setup, and tear-down.
    • New member registration, inventory, purchasing, and stocking.
  • Pray for and spiritually minister to families
  • Budget oversight
  • Use tools like Planning Center Online for scheduling and communication.
  • Research and submit grants for product funding, and at the end of the year, provide funders with grant reports about the impact made (#'s served, etc.).
  • Ensure a prayer-centered and welcoming environment.

Integration and Connection

  • Build relationships with store members and connect them to discipleship opportunities or heart-language churches.
  • Engage the congregation and staff in the store’s mission through events and collaboration.
  • Create opportunities for spiritual growth and community involvement.

Strategic Oversight and Networking

  • Collaborate with the Ministry Leadership Team to shape the ministry’s vision, scope, and outreach.
  • Build partnerships with local organizations and secure funding opportunities.
  • Manage the Essentials Store’s budget, spending, and purchasing.
  • Provide regular updates and reports to the Executive Pastor.

  • Teachable, humble, and collaborative.

Professional Qualifications

  • Position may be Pastoral if licensing and/or ordination is obtained. 
  • Spanish speaking is not firmly required, but is preferred.
  • Strong relational and administrative skills.
  • Proven ability to recruit, train, and lead volunteer teams.
  • Visionary leader with the ability to inspire and equip others.
  • Skilled in budgeting, scheduling, and organizational tools.
  • Experience in non-profit or church ministry preferred.
  • Self-starter who can work independently and achieve measurable goals.
