Job Description:

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. A born-again baptized believer in agreement with the Church’s vision, structure, strategy, values, and beliefs.
  2. A serious disciple of Jesus Christ committed to personal spiritual growth.
  3. A pastoral heart with a commitment to the local church.
  4. Spiritual gifts in and a passion for children’s ministry.
  5. The relational skill and ability to work with people and equip volunteers.
  6. Must be well acquainted with and willing to implement the Purpose-Driven Church model for children’s ministry.
  7. Willing to support the total Church program of stewardship, worship, missions, fellowship, and education.
  8. A college degree, and 3-5 years of experience working with Children
  9. Experience in preaching and a desire to further develop preaching skills.
  10. Willing to serve as a team member of the Church staff, working toward the health and growth of the congregation as a whole.
  11. Able to take initiative as a self-starter.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To supervise the Nursery Ministry
    1. Hire and supervise the Early Childhood Supervisor.
    2. Assist in hiring and supervising paid nursery workers.
  1. To lead the Children’s Ministry Team
    1. Schedule volunteer teachers and assistants.
    2. Provide leadership for weekly Children’s Worship Services.
    3. Provide leadership for Children’s Small Group Discipleship.
    4. Maintain and supply a Children’s Ministry Resource Center.
    5. Conduct volunteer training workshops.
    6. Administrate annual Children’s and Family Events.
    7. Attend annual conferences and seminars on Children’s Ministry.
  1. Other Responsibilities
    1. Lead weekly Children’s Ministry Team Staff meeting.
    2. Update the Pastor on the progress and future needs of the Children’s Ministry.
    3. To keep accurate attendance records.
    4. Plan an annual appreciation event for Children’s Ministry volunteers.
    5. Supervise the maintenance and scheduling of the Children’s Ministry Building.
