Position Purpose:  The Youth Pastor of LifeBridge Church is responsible for carrying out the vision of LBC by reaching out to the Middle School (6-8 grade), and High School students of LBC and the greater San Diego North Inland County (Rancho Bernardo/Poway) area to help them experience the Gospel of Jesus and ultimately see Jesus transform them into disciples that will follow Christ for a lifetime.  (We have no current ministry to College/Young Adult students but anticipate building one in the future.  The Youth Pastor will oversee that future vision). We have also hosted a weekly Skate Outreach on our Campus the past year and a half, called Skate Lot.

Church Vision: Our mission is to be a bridge that helps people find and follow Jesus.

Overall Relationships:  The Youth Pastor reports directly to the Lead Pastor.  As a pastor of LBC, you will also be a part of leading the church of LBC as part of a larger staff/board/elder team.  Unity and partnership are key components in this journey.  As such, we are looking for someone to lead, develop a ministry of LBC and lead students into being connected into the greater body.  We are not interested in building a ‘side ministry’ to students only.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Maintain a consistent walk with Jesus.
• Implement the overall vision of LBC within the student ministries, to help every student become part of the LBC family and discover the mission to which God has called him/her.
• Plan and implement a balanced approach to leading youth that includes the study of God's Word and application into their lives, helping them develop their own personal time in God's Word, being mentored and mentoring someone (as a goal), outreach, fellowship, missions (local and short-term overseas), music & worship - all in a fun, welcoming environment to current and new students.
• Plan and direct all events including camps/retreats, mission trips, small group ministry, outreach and special events. We currently run many of our events combined MS and HS – but we also host separate Life Groups and events/camps to promote individual growth and identity.
• Provide biblical counsel for students when needed and partner with the pastoral staff to help counsel parents and the entire family.
• Recruit, train and empower youth volunteers to mentor and lead students.  Plan and implement monthly youth leader meetings to encourage, pray, mentor and train.
• Maintain a plan to welcome and follow-up with new students.
• Communicate with parents through event calendars, parent meetings, e-mail, texts and social media.
• Attend weekly pastoral staff meetings and one monthly elder and/or board meeting and occasional retreats.
• Develop and oversee the youth budget in conjunction with the overall church budget.
• Perform other duties as required or assigned as part of the Ministry team of LBC by the Lead Pastor.

Qualities/Experience:

LBC is looking for an energetic, relational self-starter who is spiritually and emotionally mature, with a proven record of leading and/or volunteering in youth/student ministry.  Someone who will consistently demonstrate Christian character, grace, love for Jesus and the Gospel, a teachable spirit, and a spirit of faithfulness to fulfill their God-given call to serve the Body, His Bride.  Ability to clearly communicate and teach the Bible and Theology and help students develop this desire for themselves.  Will demonstrate a cooperative team spirit with all leaders of LBC and demonstrate grace to all.

A Bible/Theology degree is desirable.  Our current Sun AM church attendance, in person and online is approx. 175-200.  Youth Group attendance/ involvement is 35-40.

Salary:  Negotiable with respect to experience.
