Worship and Youth Director/Pastor

Woodhaven Reformed Church, located in Byron Center Michigan, is in search of a new full-time Worship and Youth Director/Pastor.

About Woodhaven:

Woodhaven is a growing multi-generational church of 300+ people located in Byron Center, Michigan (about 15 minutes south of Grand Rapids). We exist to radically transform the communities around us with the hope and love of Christ. Our vision over the next few years is to fully engage our people (help them make 1000 significant spiritual decisions, including 100 commitments for Christ), our campus, and our assets in the missional work of the church.

Position Summary:

To help us better live into our vision, Woodhaven is looking for a highly relational ministry partner, who is both intentional with their disciple making, and eager to see other brothers and sisters fully live as Jesus intends. We envision this person to be the primary champion of both our Sunday morning worship experience and youth (6^th-12^th Grade) ministries.

Position Responsibilities:

• Worship:
  • Work with the Lead Pastor to plan and organize a worship experience that helps people encounter Jesus and his Gospel every week that challenges them to be fully committed disciples.
  • Identify, recruit, develop, and coordinate musicians, vocalists and leaders for worship as well as members for the tech/productions team (slides, audio, cameras)
  • Lead weekly rehearsals
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining Worship/Production budget
  • Manage equipment necessary for Worship/Production teams
  • Enhance and expand upon the team’s song list and arrangements
  • Maintain compliance with music and video copyright laws and licensing

• Youth
  • Work with the Next Steps Director to define the vision, goals, and strategy necessary to lead students most effectively into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
  • Recruit, Equip, and Encourage volunteer leaders who will help in the planning and implementation of relevant, effective, and safe ministry environments.
  • Relationally engage and communicate with students and their families.
  • Ensure the youth ministry connects students to the broader church community - advocate for student ministries, find ways of plugging them into various service opportunities, etc.
  • Oversee Ministry Administration - Budget, Calendar, Communication, Safety Protocols, Attendance tracking, Database Management.

Qualifications

• Have a growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
• Be a gifted vocalist and worship leader.
• Understanding of sound production, ProPresenter, and Planning Center.
• The ideal candidate would have a minimum of 2+ years of proven experience in planning and leading a worship service, recruiting and training volunteer musicians/vocalists, and discipling youth.
• The ideal candidate will have Bachelor’s or Seminary Degree.
