Position Title: Part-Time Director of Evangelism Activities
Reports To: Lead Pastor
Hours: 20 hours per week (can possibly full time)
Location: Christ Lutheran Church
Position Summary: Christ Lutheran Church is seeking a passionate and motivated individual to join our team as a Part-Time Director of Evangelism Activities. This role is essential in planning, advertising, and executing outreach events aimed at engaging and connecting with the neighborhoods surrounding our church. The Director of Evangelism Activities will be responsible for organizing an average of two events per month that foster community spirit and introduce our church to new members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Planning and Execution:
- Develop a calendar of outreach events aimed at engaging the local community.
- Plan and coordinate at least two events per month, ensuring a variety of activities that appeal to different age groups and interests.
- Collaborate with church staff and volunteers to ensure successful event execution.
- Advertising and Promotion:
- Create and implement marketing strategies to promote events through various channels, including social media, church website, local newspapers, and community bulletin boards.
- Design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and online graphics.
- Engage with local community groups and organizations to spread the word about upcoming events.
- Community Engagement:
- Build and maintain relationships with local residents, businesses, and community leaders to foster a positive image of Christ Lutheran Church.
- Actively seek feedback from event attendees to improve future events and better meet community needs.
- Volunteer Coordination:
- Recruit, train, and supervise volunteers to assist with event planning and execution.
- Ensure volunteers are well-informed about their roles and responsibilities during events.
- Budget Management:
- Work with church leadership to develop and manage the budget for evangelism activities.
- Ensure events are cost-effective and within budget.
- Reporting and Evaluation:
- Track and report on event attendance, engagement, and overall success.
- Provide regular updates to the Senior Pastor and church leadership on the progress and impact of evangelism activities.
- Other Duties and Responsibilities:
- Participate in weekly staff meetings
- Participate in special programs and events as needed
- Other duties as assigned by the Senior Pastor
Qualifications:
- Be an ordained or licensed clergy person in good-standing.
- Active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, evidenced by action, attitude and behavior.
- A strong commitment to the mission and values of Christ Lutheran Church.
- Ability to reach out and connect with individuals and families.
- Ability to share faith, testimony, and scripture with others to evangelize.
- Previous experience in event planning, marketing, or community outreach.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using social media platforms and other digital marketing tools.
- Creativity and enthusiasm for engaging with the community.
- Flexible schedule to accommodate evening and weekend events.
- Competency with basic computer software (Excel, Word, Publisher).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in evangelism OR outreach ministry (paid or volunteer).
- Experience in a church or faith-based organization.
- Knowledge of the local community and its needs.
