Job Summary
The Middle School Director will play a key role in developing kingdom-minded leaders at Anthem Church to impact North County.
This individual will be Christ-centered, spiritually mature, and actively growing in faith. As a student of the Bible, they should exemplify the characteristics outlined in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1, living an "above reproach" lifestyle that reflects Christ both inside and outside the church.
The ideal candidate will be relationally driven, passionate about discipling youth, and gifted in building strong connections with students and families. A heart for fun, engaging activities, and a deep commitment to shepherding middle school students is essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leadership & Discipleship
- Actively support and implement the church-wide vision through Middle School Ministry.
- Lead and spiritually mentor middle school students, fostering their faith journey.
- Love to create fun and engaging environments for students.
- Regularly preach and teach the Word of God in various settings (weekends, midweek, and events).
- Ensure all teachings are age-appropriate, relevant, and biblically sound.
- Develop and oversee youth discipleship programs to encourage spiritual growth.
- Shepherd students and their families, providing pastoral care and support.
Programming & Events
- Develop and lead engaging weekly youth worship services (Wednesday Night Worship), incorporating worship, games, teaching, discipleship, and prayer.
- Oversee and plan seasonal youth camps (winter and summer), ensuring a meaningful experience for students.
- Organize fun, impactful events that foster connection and spiritual growth.
Team Leadership & Development
- Recruit, train, and retain a strong team of youth volunteers.
- Identify, select, and develop small group leaders to facilitate deeper connections.
- Oversee and mentor the Middle School Worship Band.
Ministry Outreach
- Create and implement outreach opportunities to reach unchurched youth.
- Establish a presence on middle school campuses to engage with students.
- Utilize social media to promote events, programs, and camps while adhering to child protection policies.
Administrative & Organizational Responsibilities
- Plan, manage, and execute youth events and programs with excellence.
- Ensure all child protection policies are followed.
- Maintain organization, structure, and flexibility while effectively delegating responsibilities.
Qualifications:
- A strong and growing relationship with Jesus Christ that is evident in both personal and professional life.
- Agreement with Anthem Church’s mission statement, values, and faith statement.
- A clear calling from God into youth ministry.
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry or a related field (preferred).
- Experience in youth ministry leadership with a proven ability to disciple and connect with students.
- A leader of leaders, capable of raising up and developing volunteers and staff teams.
- A track record of reliability, dependability, and conscientious work habits.
- Event planning and execution skills, ensuring successful programs and activities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An energetic self-starter who is structured, organized, and focused, yet adaptable.
- A delegator who effectively empowers others while maintaining oversight.
- A multitasker who thrives in a fast-paced environment without becoming overwhelmed.
