Position Overview:
At Compassion Church, we are looking for a Christ-centered leader who is passionate about reaching and discipling students in grades 6–12. This role is designed to grow with the right person — whether part-time or full-time — based on gifting, calling, and availability. If full-time, this role would also include leadership and discipleship of young adults (ages 18–25+), helping them grow in faith and find their place in the church community.
Our desire is to find someone who will invest in students and young adults, build relationships with families, and help raise up the next generation of leaders in the church.
Key Responsibilities:
Teaching & Discipleship
Plan and lead engaging, relevant weekly youth gatherings.
Teach biblical truth in a way students and young adults can apply to their everyday lives.
Develop small groups and discipleship opportunities for deeper spiritual growth.
Leadership Development
Recruit, train, and encourage a team of volunteers to help lead and disciple students and young adults.
Identify and mentor student and young adult leaders, giving them opportunities to serve and lead.
Events & Outreach
Plan and lead special events, retreats, camps, and outreach opportunities for both students and young adults.
Create a welcoming and fun environment where students and young adults can invite friends and feel like they belong.
Lead Yth Group on Sunday nights and help launch young adult gatherings or connection points.
Parent & Family Partnership
Communicate regularly with parents and support them in discipling their teenagers.
Offer resources and create connection points for parents and families.
Administrative Responsibilities
Help manage the youth and young adult ministry budget and calendar.
Maintain clear communication through church platforms, emails, and social media.
Ensure safety and care in all ministry activities.
Qualifications:
A growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and alignment with Compassion Church’s beliefs and mission.
Passion for student and young adult ministry and building relationships with teens, young adults, and families.
Strong communication and teaching skills.
Ability to lead and develop teams.
Relational, approachable, and creative.
Prior ministry experience is a plus but not required if gifting and calling are evident.
Position Details:
This role can be part-time or full-time, depending on the person God brings to our team.
Part-time focus: Middle school and high school students.
Full-time focus: Includes both students (grades 6–12) and young adults (ages 18–25+).
We are committed to shaping the role around the right leader’s strengths and availability.
If you feel called to invest in the next generation and be part of a life-giving team, we’d love to start a conversation with you!
