Job Description:

We are seeking a senior pastor to provide godly leadership and spiritual direction to our congregation. The ideal candidate will be able to motivate outreach, develop discipleship, and preach and teach the Bible with passion and integrity. We are a family oriented, Christ centered, and Bible based independent church.

Qualifications:

We are looking for a pastor who can lead our congregation with integrity, have excellent communication skills, motivate and inspire others, and have a deep understanding of biblical teachings. We follow the Biblical guidelines set forth in 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9 for Elders and 1 Timothy 3:8-12 for appointed Deacons.

• Personal call to pastoral ministry
• The ability to communicate through the preaching and ministry and lead people to life changing experiences.
• Belief in the inerrancy of the Scriptures
• Have a love and reference for the Lord
• Be a fervent and faithful prayer warrior
• Be faithful, Spirit led, and possess an attitude of genuineness and humility
• Be in agreement with FCC Statement of Faith and Bylaws
• Be capable of Biblical Counseling and conflict resolution
• Be willing to work with all age groups and adapt to various ministry contexts

Key Responsibilities:

• Preaching and Teaching:
  • Deliver engaging and biblically sound sermons
  • Provide and oversee relevant teaching and instruction for the church that fosters spiritual growth and discipleship.
• Pastoral Care:
  • Offer compassionate support and counseling to individuals and families within the congregation.
  • Conduct weddings, funerals, and other special ceremonies as needed.
  • Visit members in hospitals, homes, and other care facilities.
• Leadership and Vision:
  • Provide spiritual and strategic leadership to guide the church towards its mission and vision.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership Team which consist of Elders and Deacons, and ministry leaders to develop and implement church programs and initiatives.
  • Encourage and empower church staff and volunteers in their roles.
• Community Engagement:
  • Foster strong relationships with the local community through outreach programs and service projects.
• Administration and Management:
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the church.
  • Ensure effective communication within the church through various channels, including newsletters, social media, and announcements.
• Spiritual Development:
  • Encourage and model a life of prayer, worship, and personal growth.
  • Develop and support programs for spiritual formation, small groups, and ministry training.
  • Promote a culture of discipleship and outreach within the congregation.

Church Overview:

The church present worship style has a mix of hymns with contemporary worship music, with expositional preaching of the Word. The average attendance for Sunday morning worship is 55-65 congregants. The leadership team consists currently of 2 elders and 2 deacons. The church has a worship leader who leads the worship team.

Community Overview:

Lebanon, Indiana is located directly on interstate 65 and is 27 miles northwest of Indianapolis and 35 miles southeast of Lafayette. Lebanon is experiencing major growth within the city. Lebanon, Indiana is known for sense of community. Lebanon has wonderful sense of family and famous for its small-town charm. From the great schools and safe streets, exciting festivals and unique dining experiences, outdoor fun and family-friendly attractions, Lebanon is a great place to be.

Compensation:

This is a part-time position. Salary will be determined based on experience and education of the successful candidate and in line with the current recommendations contained in the budget.
