Kids Pastor

GENERAL OVERVIEW:

• The River City Kids Director reports to the Executive Pastor and oversees and coordinates all ministries related to children ages birth-5^th The River City Kids Director will lead in creative, Christ-centered instruction and ensure the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of ministry operations. This position will accomplish this by recruiting, training, scheduling, and overseeing volunteers with vision, passion, and creativity, and helping to create and execute an excellent kids’ ministry experience each week.

YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

• Leading a transformative, Spirit empowered Kids Ministry
• Creating teams and relationships centered around our mission (recruit, equip and release volunteers, both adults and children, for the kids ministry)
• Meeting with volunteers and leaders to cover all details
• Coordinating weekly environments that ministers to kids, but also (and just as important) teaches the kids how to minister
• Meeting with and giving spiritual advice to kids and families
• Attending, promoting and raising leaders for South Dakota Kids Ministry events and other kids’ ministry initiatives.
• Choosing curriculum, building, and shaping weekly lessons
• Administering a check-in system for various activities ensuring that our ministries for kids are stable, consistent, safe, well-staffed, positive, creative and fun
• Praying, dreaming, planning and preparing an effective ministry to the kids and families of River City Assembly and the greater Missouri Valley in discipleship, evangelism and outreach
• Networking with other kids’ pastors in the South Dakota District and the Missouri Valley

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Dependence on the Scriptures and the Spirit
• Fantastic written and verbal communication skills
• A basic understanding of Planning Center
• A basic understanding or willingness to learn ProPresenter (and other tech as needed)
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to excel at details.
• Excellent people management and team coach skills
• A passion for team, staff culture, and loyalty
• A willingness and openness to be pastored and coached
• Be in agreement with the doctrine and teachings of the Assemblies of God
• Credentialing with Assemblies of God is a plus, but not required at the start of the position
