Senior Pastor

Position Overview: We seek a dynamic Senior Pastor with a heart for worship and a vision for discipleship, teaching, and community engagement. The ideal candidate will inspire and guide our church family in following Christ in reaching the world He loves. The applicant should also be a good communicator, both personally and from the pulpit, and should be able to delegate responsibility well.

 Key Responsibilities:

• Preach and teach the Word of God effectively, engaging the congregation with relevant sermons based in
  • biblical truths that encourage discipleship and spiritual growth.
  • a clear vision for the church that aligns with SRCC’s mission and values.
  • Content that equips the congregation through learning opportunities helps them apply the scripture and directs them to grow spiritually and reach out to the community.
• Providing spiritual leadership and pastoral care, including counseling and supporting individuals and families.
• Work alongside the Santa Rosa Christian Church Elders and other church leadership to impact our community and God’s Kingdom in the city.
• Work in cooperation with other like-minded ministries in our city.
• Oversee Holy Spirit-led worship services, ensuring they are meaningful and spiritually enriching.
• Lead and mentor church staff and lay leaders, fostering a collaborative environment and leading by example. Promote a culture of teamwork and mutual respect among church staff, ensuring open communication and unity in ministry efforts.
• Engage with the local community and encourage church involvement in service projects, ministries, and missions.
• With the Executive Pastor, manage budgets and operational decisions effectively.

Qualifications:

• A Holy-Spirit led, deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ, and a heartfelt commitment to making disciples.
• Significant ministry experience and preparation, including a degree in Divinity or Theology from an accredited institution or equivalent experience in related ministry and church leadership.
• Knowledge of and commitment to the Holy Bible as completely God-breathed, inerrant in all its teaching, and the final authority for all matters of faith and practice.
• Proven experience in pastoral ministry, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership role.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a heart for pastoral care.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to the core beliefs and values of Santa Rosa Christian Church.
• Gifted in preaching and teaching.
• Meets the requirements for an elder in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1. Only male candidates will be considered based on the scriptural requirements of an elder, the ministerial purpose of the church, and the position.
