SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The Worship Pastor is the church’s location leader responsible for creating a meaningful worship experience for all services and events.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Primary Worship Leader for weekend services & church-wide events for congregation of over 3,000
- Collaborate w/ Executive Pastor team regarding worship services and events
- Prepare songs, arrangements, and charts for worship services.
- Rehearse worship teams for weekend services and events.
- Lead and oversee all aspects of worship services, ensuring a spiritually enriching and engaging experience.
- Direct and coordinate worship teams, including vocalists, musicians, and technical support, fostering a collaborative and cohesive environment.
- Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to worship team members.
- Collaborate with other church leaders to align worship services with the overall vision and mission of the church.
- Develop and implement creative elements in worship services, such as visual media, to enhance the worship experience.
- Foster a culture of worship that encourages active participation, reflection, and connection with the Lord.
- Organize and lead rehearsals, ensuring excellence in musical performance and a spirit of unity among team members.
- Support the overall pastoral ministry of the church, in events, pastoral care, and community outreach.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to lead worship – singing and training/teaching others to do the same
- Ability to lead and direct worship teams for weekend services
- Demonstrated knowledge of, and accountability for, financial controls by church standards.
- Demonstrate ongoing proficiency in:
- Microsoft Office Suite (Work, Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc.)
- Planning Center
- Exhibit flexibility and aptitude in learning new or unfamiliar tools that may be incorporated into the workflow.
- Able to remain focused & on-task in a highly creative and interactive environment in close proximity of co-workers
- Able to recruit, train, equip, motivate, and administer multiple teams, tasks, projects, or events and the people who are involved with them in an organized, diplomatic and tactful way to ensure that both the people and the project succeeds.
- Able to listen attentively and verbalize effectively to ensure that the intended meaning, feeling, focus and details of issues, events and collateral pieces are communicated with excellence.
- Able to process feedback, criticism and change requests with a positive attitude and diplomacy. Requires good conflict resolution skills and great customer service/people skills. Must exhibit flexibility and responsiveness to last minute requests, emergencies
and changing needs.
- Must be organized and able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Able to create solutions for obstacles when they present themselves and provide suggestions to peers/supervisor when necessary to accomplish the desired objective.
