Reports to:  Lead Pastor Team

Objective:  Implement and oversee TBA’s vision and strategy for Family Ministry.

Job Description:

The Family Pastor is the lead shepherd over all ministries directed at family spiritual development, developing spiritual health and a Presence Centered culture for those from birth to young adults (college age or just beyond), with specific emphasis in oversight of Children, Youth, and Young Adult Ministries. The Family Pastor is the primary leader (the face) of Youth Ministry, with an emphasis in direct leadership of high school ministries and direct oversight of the middle school youth pastor. The Family Pastor is also the primary leader of the leaders of Children and Young Adult Ministries, helping to discern and clarify vision and direction and strategies with those leaders.

God has revealed that TBA is to be an intergenerational church, where there is a meshing of generations that benefits the entire church family in such a way that God’s Kingdom is expanded, and spiritual leaders are being formed. The Family Pastor plays a key role in helping TBA to grow younger and develop healthy families seeking wholeheartedly after Jesus.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Primary Youth Pastor
• Lead/manage 3 direct reports (Children’s Ministry Director[s], Middle School Youth Pastor[s], Young Adult Ministry Leader[s])
• Lead/manage all volunteers within the youth ministry team
• Oversee and foster ministry to families (children, youth, parents, young adults, young married couples), emphasizing a Presence Centered culture in the home
• Develop, implement and lead ministry for High School Students (currently including a mid-week service, small groups, outreach events, youth camps mission trips, etc.)
• Oversee Middle School Ministry (currently including mid-week services, small groups, outreach events, youth camps, mission trips, etc.)
• Preach occasionally (as scheduled) at our weekend services.

 QUALIFICATIONS:

REQUIRED:

• 4-Year Bachelor’s Degree.
• Ministry experience.
• A passion to create an environment for spiritual growth in children & youth.
• Must possess strong leadership gifting in order to be a leader of multiple leaders in several ministry areas.
• Proven ability to recruit, build teams, develop and direct lay leaders.
• Proven ability to develop and implement strategy.
• The ability to work in a team ministry setting.

PREFERRED:

• 3 years of leadership in youth and/or family ministry.
• Has raised or is raising a family (preferably with school-aged children).
• Spiritual gift mix that includes leadership, evangelism, shepherding and teaching.
• Personality traits that include being highly creative, energetic, organized and driven.
