Worship Pastor and/or Music Education Teacher in Christian K-8 school

For a full-time position: 50/50 Worship Director and School Music Teacher

The Harbor Church is seeking to fill a full-time staff role with a gifted and talented Jesus follower skilled in both coordinating the worship for our church and teaching music to our on-site K-8 Christian school (Pine Harbor Christian Academy).  The role consists of 2 distinct part-time roles, as outlined below:

1.  Worship Coordinator (Harbor Church - 20 hrs/wk):

At The Harbor Church, we seek to live, work, and play out of a growing awareness of the Holy Spirit’s movement within us and among us. Our first priority is cultivating our partnership with Him. Living by the Holy Spirit and keeping in step with Him is our primary task (Galatians 5:16, 25). This is accomplished by growing in listening to God, meditating on His Word, praying, and worshipping.

Worship service coordination

• Work with the pastor(s) in developing the worship life of the church.
• Work with the pastor(s) in creating a worship flow for the weekend services.
• Communicate the worship service plan with the relevant tech and worship teams.

Worship team leadership and coordination

• Lead/participate on the worship team each week
• Recruit and develop the worship team with an eye for heart and skill development.
• Create the worship team roster each month.
• Shepherd and care for worship team members.
• Train and develop upcoming worship leaders.

Music skill and song selection development

• Responsible for the continual development of personal instrumental and vocal skills.
• Responsible for the research and incorporation of most current worship music in the services.

Other responsibilities

• Develop musicians and worship leaders within the youth group.
• Lead worship at various church gatherings when needed (youth group, men’s group, other worship/prayer times at church).

2.  Music Teacher Description (Pine Harbor Christian Academy - 20 hrs/wk):

Part-time Music Instructor, Pine Harbor Christian Academy/Kids Kare Center; with option to conduct private lessons with students on campus

Job Summary:

Applications are now being accepted from qualified staff for part-time Music Teacher position for the 2025-2026 school year. This teaching position is to Preschool - 8th grade students on Tuesday's, Wednesday’s, and Thursday's from:

Tuesday’s and Thursday’s schedule is structured below:

*8:00–9:10 Daycare/Preschool rooms

*9:15–2:15 K-8 Music classes

Wednesday’s Schedule: 

We have often asked the Music Teacher to help with music on Wednesdays for chapel from approximately 8:30-8:45.  We also have Middle School classes in the afternoon.

Music Lessons:

There would be opportunities to teach music lessons if you desire at lunch and recess on those days, as well as before and after school.  Wednesday’s have room for lessons in between Chapel and afternoon classes; additionally, there would be options to holds lessons on other days.

*We are also open to different ideas or schedules.

Qualifications:

Committed to the mission of Christian Education and Spiritual Development of children.

Ability to represent our ministries, our beliefs, and our faith at all times.

Good oral and written communication skills.

Preferred: Knowledge of standards based curriculum in music instruction.

Preferred: Experience designing and implementing curriculum.

Preferred: Knowledge of student assessment tools.

Pay is in a range dependent upon education and experience.  For the combined role, we would anticipate an annual salary range of $45-55K.
