Staff Position Title: Young Adults Pastor

About the Young Adult Pastor Position:
The Young Adults Pastor should be a youthful and energetic individual who is excited for the opportunity to mentor and mold a generation of young adults to go forth and make an impact for the gospel in a lost and dying world. This individual will provide
vision and leadership for young adult ministries, events, staff, and volunteers across all three growing campuses of Church at The Mill.
This role focuses on fostering spiritual growth, building community, and equipping young adults (ages 19-29) to be disciples who make disciples. This role aligns with the church’s core values—Gather, Grow, Give, and Go—by fostering spiritual growth, community,
and service opportunities for young adults.
The ideal candidate will be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ with strong relational and leadership skills and a desire to develop a vibrant, multiplying ministry that empowers the young generation to embrace surrender to Jesus Christ and wield their
influence on the world around them. This individual will find effective ways to motivate young adults and strategically:
- Develop and lead a comprehensive Young Adults Ministry that supports spiritual growth and fellowship.
- Organize and oversee Small Groups, Mentor Groups, and Equipping Classes tailored for young adults.
- Provide pastoral care and biblical counseling, ensuring the spiritual and emotional well-being of young adults.
- Encourage involvement in missions, outreach, and on-campus serving opportunities.
- Collaborate with church leadership to integrate young adults into the broader ministry vision of CATM.
Responsibilities:
Ministry Development:
- Lead and oversee the overall vision, strategy, and execution of the Young Adults Ministry.
- Develop and implement discipleship opportunities, including Small Groups, Mentor Groups, Equipping Classes, and Biblical Counseling for young adults.
- Organize and lead key gatherings, off-site retreats, and missions opportunities to foster spiritual growth and community.
- Develop and execute a strategic outreach plan to engage young adults on local college campuses.
Community Building & Pastoral Care:
- Cultivate a welcoming and engaging environment for young adults inside and outside the church.
- Provide pastoral care, discipleship, and counseling to young adults as they navigate life transitions and spiritual challenges.
- Work to integrate young adults into the broader life of the church, encouraging participation in worship, service, and mission opportunities.
Leadership Development:
- Recruit, equip, and mentor leaders for small groups, outreach, discipleship, and ministry teams.
- Oversee and develop the Young Adult Leadership Team, fostering a culture of multiplication and ownership.
- Supervise and mentor Young Adult Interns, providing hands-on ministry experience and leadership training.
Collaboration and Church Integration:
- Work closely with the Adult Ministry Team and other ministry leaders to align Young Adult Ministry with the church’s overall discipleship strategy.
- Partner with the Missions Department to facilitate young adult involvement in local and global outreach.
- Collaborate with the Discipleship Pastor to strengthen Mentor Groups and leadership pipelines for young adults.
Teaching & Communication:
- Provide engaging and relevant teaching through Young Adult gatherings, equipping classes, and discipleship settings.
- Ensure regular and effective communication with young adults via social media, digital platforms, and personal connections.
- Serve as a resource for biblical teaching and discipleship within the church.
Administrative Responsibilities:
- Develop and manage the ministry budget in collaboration with church administration.
- Maintain records and tracking systems to ensure effective follow-up with young adults.
- Evaluate ministry effectiveness and adjust strategies as needed to foster growth.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in a ministry-related field (seminary preferred).
- 3+ years of pastoral experience in young adult ministry.
- Experience in a large church setting with a strong discipleship model is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A committed Christian with a deep personal faith and a lifestyle that reflects biblical principles.
- Strong leadership, relational, and discipleship skills.
- Experience in leading and growing small group-based ministries.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, and equip leaders for ministry.
- Excellent organizational, administrative, and communication abilities.
- Passionate about reaching, discipling, and mobilizing young adults for kingdom impact.
