Music Minister

Purpose:  Provide and lead music for Sunday morning worship at Chapel of the Lakes.

Expected Hours:

• 2-3 hours each week for preparation and practice
• 3 hours each Sunday morning for preparation, and leading worship during the service

Compensation:

• $500 per month

Spiritual Gifts (helpful for doing this job, but not required):

• Leadership

Personal Traits & Skills (needed to do job well):

• Be a disciple of Jesus Christ
• Have a passion for worship
• Be confident in music performance
• Be proficient and comfortable playing at least one instrument (keyboard or guitar)
• Be comfortable with technology
• Be able to make/use Power Point slides

Responsibilities:

• Communicate with the pastor each week about next Sunday’s sermon content in order to choose appropriate music
• Choose and prepare worship songs well-suited for the congregation – generally including both hymns and contemporary worship songs, but open to shifting as needs change
• Prepare Power Point slides as needed each week
• Possibly, recruit and train musicians from the congregation to join in leading worship (instruments and vocals), which would include providing sheet music, and leading practices
