Job Overview

HopeCity, a vibrant and growing church, is seeking a passionate and creative Worship Pastor to lead our congregation in authentic, engaging, and Spirit-filled worship. The Worship Pastor will oversee all aspects of the worship ministry, including music, creative arts, and production while fostering a culture of worship that aligns with our mission to connect people to Jesus and each other in a relevant way. This role requires a gifted musician, a collaborative leader, and a heart for discipleship.

Key Responsibilities

• Worship Leadership: Plan, prepare, lead, and cast vision for dynamic worship services (and other special events) that blend modern worship music with meaningful theology, creating an atmosphere where people can encounter God, and reaching both HopeCity Adults and HopeCity Students.
• Implement creative ideas for impactful worship environments in both HopeCity Adults and HopeCity Students through the strategic use of set design, audio, and lighting components.
• Team Development: Recruit, train, and shepherd a team of volunteer musicians, vocalists, and audio/broadcast technicians, empowering them to grow in their gifts and faith.
• Creative Direction: Collaborate with the Executive Pastor and Creative Team to design services that integrate music, media, and storytelling to reflect the church’s vision and sermon series.
• Musical Excellence: Oversee song selection, arrangements, and rehearsals to ensure high-quality, authentic worship experiences that resonate with a diverse congregation.
• Pastoral Care: Provide spiritual guidance and encouragement to the worship team and congregation, modeling a life of worship beyond the stage.
• Technical Oversight: Work with the AV team to enhance sound, lighting, and video elements, ensuring seamless execution of services.
• Administration: Manage the worship ministry budget, maintain MultiTracks licensing, and schedule team members efficiently.
• Community Engagement: Participate in church-wide events and initiatives, fostering relationships within the congregation and contributing to the overall mission of HopeCity.

Qualifications

• Spiritual Maturity: A deep, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and a calling to lead others in worship.
• Musical Skills: Proficiency in leading worship vocally and instrumentally (guitar or keys preferred), with experience in modern worship styles (e.g., Hillsong, Elevation, Passion).
• Leadership Experience: At least 3 years of experience leading worship in a church setting, with proven ability to build and inspire teams.
• Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with sound systems, Resi, ProPresenter, Planning Center, and other worship-related technology.
• Team Player: Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit to work alongside staff, volunteers, and church leadership.
• Adaptability: Comfortable thriving in a fast-paced, innovative environment with a heart for reaching today’s culture.
