About Middle Cove Bible Church

Middle Cove Bible Church is the little church with a big heart. The church is located right outside Duncannon, PA, in the village of Cove. An average Sunday attendance is between 20-30 people. We are a body focused on glorifying Jesus Christ and building our relationship with Him. Although the smaller Sunday attendance, the congregants are loyal, intentional in their serving, and inviting in nature.

The search committee is dedicated to finding the right candidate and leader to serve as a bi-vocational pastor. The role of the pastor at Middle Cove Bible Church includes shepherding the congregation and leading a weekly Sunday morning service. The Pastor should center their preaching on the gospel of Jesus Christ. While the church only conducts a Sunday service, there is an openess to growth of potential midweek bible studies. The congregation is open to other possiblities for growth, hopeful for the future status of the Middle Cove Bible church, and pursuing the plan God has for their congregation.

Congregants are used to a mix of hymns and contemporary worship music. Currently there is no worship leader, so the Pastor would be responsible for leading worship as well. It is not expected that they have a musical gift, but that they can provide some type of worship. (There is a TV and speaker system that can be used.)

The church is evangelical in nature and leans theologically conservative. The Bible is considered the final authority on all theological matters within the church. The church emphasizes practical application of scripture. Primary theological issues must hold to a traditional view. On secondary or tertiary issues, we are not overly concerned with the fine details of your theology, just so it aligns with a traditional theological thought within the non-denominational/evangelical church, and can be supported by scripture. If you have a concern, feel free to reach out.

The church is run by a board that consists of 6 members. The pastor shall be accountable to this board. The board looks forward to working with the right candidate to implement the supports they will need.
