Summary
In alignment with Immanuel Church’s mission of “Helping People Take One-Step-Forward in their Relationship with Jesus
Christ”, the Pastor will lead and oversee all Adult Discipleship initiatives at Immanuel Church including (but not limited to) Small
Groups, ABF classes, Men’s Ministries, Women’s Ministries, trainings, and seminars. The Pastor will be passionate about
making disciples with a strong desire to help everyone at Immanuel Church engage in the right next steps of growth and maturity
in their faith.

Essential Functions
Cast vision, lead, and implement adult discipleship efforts within Immanuel Church through Small Groups, Adult Classes,
Seminars, Men’s Ministries, Women’s Ministry, and other trainings so that the people of Immanuel will take one-step-forward in
their relationships with Jesus.

Relational Leadership
• Demonstrated ability in teaching and equipping with passion and clarity.
• Recruit, develop, encourage, and equip leaders for Adult Classes (ABF, Next Steps), Small Groups, Men’s Ministry, and
Women’s Ministry teams.
• Oversee Small Group leaders while building a healthy team-ministry atmosphere.
• Develop and maintain cooperative communication practices with leaders, volunteers, staff, and other ministry partners.
• Maintain a consistent and available presence during Sunday services, events, and seminars.

Strategic Leadership
• Discover and implement the best methods of spiritual formation for all adults, including Young Adults (18-27).
• Ensure quality teaching and doctrinal agreement in all classes, groups, events, and seminars
• Develop and implement a systematic approach to teaching through adult classes the essential church doctrines.
• Ensure Adult class culture is consistent, appropriate, and excellent.
• Develop and implement a strategy that continually launches new small groups and ensures that group members
experience community, care, and life change.
• Train and build up members of Immanuel to serve, share, defend the gospel, and make disciples of Jesus Christ

Operational Leadership
• Create and maintain a strong volunteer process, including recruitment, onboarding, placement, training, and
encouragement.
• Develop and oversee a strong assimilation process, including Baptism and Membership classes and process.
• Oversee and wisely steward the ministry budget and resources
• Plan long-range and short-term for events, environmental needs, and curriculum.
• Maintain detailed ministry data
• Identify problems or situations as they occur. Lead or assist in finding solutions to problems.

Collaboration
• Active, collaborative, and contributing member of the Immanuel Ministry Staff.
• Utilize church-wide digital management systems, scheduling processes, website, and in-place ministry-wide systems.
• Collaborate with the Pastor of Soul Care on the implementation of Soul Care training within the adult class settings.
• Maintain and collaborate on long-range calendaring and facility usage.
• Communicate with ministry partners and staff clearly, consistently, appropriately, and kindly.
• Perform General Pastoral Duties: conduct weddings and funerals, attend staff meetings, participate in worship services,
and perform other duties as assigned.
• Oversee the budget for the Adult Discipleship Ministry of Immanuel
• Communicate and report joys and challenges with the church Board.

Qualifications
• A genuine follower of Jesus Christ and member of Immanuel Church, holding in highest regard Immanuel’s doctrinal
statement and beliefs.
• Commitment to an ethical lifestyle appropriate for ministry in accordance with the Immanuel Church staff handbook and
staff culture documents.
• A bachelor’s degree or equivalent study/experience is required. Formal biblical education preferred.
• Passionate about making and developing disciples of Jesus.
• Known for words and actions that build, equip, and encourage others.

• Flexible, willing to adapt, adjust, and share resources and facilities.
• Motivated, independent, God-reliant, and enthusiastic approach to work requirements.
• Accepts instruction and direction. Strives to meet goals and objectives from supervisor.
• Desire to study and improve knowledge and skill. Teachable.
• Ability to stay level-headed in stressful environments.
• A clear communicator in verbal and written formats.

Other Specifications
• Reports to: Pastor of Ministry and Operations/Executive Pastor under the direction of the Senior Pastor
• Position Type: Full-Time, Salaried, Sundays required
• Schedule: As is typical for ministry, some flexibility is required. Regular agreed-upon office hours, weekday evenings
possible, weekends and certain event participation will also be required.
• Compensation: Dependent upon experience
