Worship/Student Pastor

Mt. Comfort Church is looking for its next Worship/Student Pastor; a musician/leader who loves Jesus and is passionate about helping others experience Him through worship. 

Mt. Comfort Church, one church in two locations, stands upon a legacy of dedicated servants, tracing back over 140 years, who created a foundation of community service through missions, worship, faith development, and more.   Over the past five years, three distinct congregations have come together as one to better serve the ever-changing needs in our community.  Our collective heart beats with a passion for helping people experience the transforming power of Jesus Christ in their lives.  We believe this happens through our GATHERING together, GROWING in our faith, GIVING of ourselves, and GOING out into the world.  God is powerfully moving in our midst, and we’d love for you to join the journey.

Around 250 people call MCC their church home, with an average attendance of around 150 between the two campuses.  We enjoy a modern style of worship; blending together the contemporary and traditional to create a worship experience that will both encourage and inspire people along their faith journey.  We have an active kids ministry, student ministry, missions/outreach focus, community connection, and preschool/child care; all of which centers around our mission to transform our lives, our community, and our world through the love and power of Jesus Christ.

Our next Worship Leader should be a team player, great communicator, able to recruit and equip volunteers/musicians, adept in current technology, and always striving towards excellence.  The best candidate would have an engaging stage presence, great singing voice, and lead from guitar or piano.  

Lighthouse Student Ministry is the youth group of Mt. Comfort Church serving students grades 7^th thru 12^th.  This ministry strives to encourage and equip youth towards their relationship with God and the community through weekly gatherings and events.  This ministry supports the overall MCC mission of transforming our lives, our community, and our worship through the power and love of Jesus Christ.  The Lighthouse Student Ministry Leader plays a pivotal role in the spiritual and personal development of youth within the congregation and community. This position involves leading, coordinating, and implementing programs specifically tailored to engage and empower middle and high school youth.  This leader will foster a supportive environment that encourages spiritual growth, moral development, community involvement, and leadership skills among the youth. 

Student Ministry Leader Expectations:

1. Oversee youth staff and volunteers.
2. Minister to students and their families.
3. Serve as a strong role model who exhibits high moral values.
4. Implement, promote, and manage all Sunday night youth programming.
5. Communicate with youth, parents, and congregation via all platforms. 

Qualifications:

1. A strong faith in Jesus Christ with a desire to lead a youth blended student ministry.
2. An excitement for creatively teaching youth about the Christian Faith.
3. Commitment to a safe environment conducive to meaningful connections.
4. Ability to work effectively with youth, parents, and teams of volunteers.
5. Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and conflict management skills.
