The Kids Minister is responsible for leading and overseeing the children’s ministry (birth–5th grade) in alignment with the church’s mission and values. This role involves creating engaging, Christ-centered programming, recruiting and equipping volunteers, and partnering with parents to nurture the spiritual growth of children.
Key responsibilities:
Leadership & Vision
- Develop and implement a dynamic children’s ministry that helps kids know and follow Jesus.
- Ensure alignment with the church’s overall vision and values.
- Create a welcoming and safe environment where children and families feel loved and included.
- Work closely with student ministry to create a clear spiritual pathway from early childhood through high school.
Programming & Curriculum
- Select, develop and implement age-appropriate, Bible-based curriculum.
- Plan and oversee Sunday morning kids' services, midweek programs, and special events (VBS, camps, family outreach events).
- Use creative teaching methods (music, storytelling, hands-on activities) to engage children at different developmental levels.
Volunteer Recruitment & Development
- Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to serve in kids' ministry.
- Provide ongoing encouragement, discipleship, and leadership development for the team.
- Implement policies and procedures to ensure child safety and security.
Parent & Family Engagement
- Partner with parents by providing resources and support for discipling their children at home.
- Communicate regularly with families through newsletters, emails, and social media.
- Organize family events to foster community and spiritual growth.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in children’s ministry (preferred).
- Bachelor’s degree in ministry, education, or related field (preferred)
