Position Summary: A Campus Worship Leader is a part of the Worship Team Ministry at New Hope Church to help fulfill the mission to know Christ and make Him known. They take on the responsibility of guarding the culture and excellence of the worship experience at their campus.
The Vision of New Hope Church is to create fully devoted followers of Christ as measured by the Signposts of Full Devotion. This position requires the individual to serve not solely as a Worship Team member but also as a spiritual leader to the people of the church.
This person is a leader who can communicate in a way that inspires those around him to join in the pursuit of New Hope’s vision. This position requires a team player, someone who can handle a fast-changing environment while having a Godly attitude; always willing to set aside any conflict in order to provide a peaceful and God honoring team that is available and able to work with any other team and Director.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Worship Team Collaboration
- Participate in planning, programming, and executing the vision of New Hope Church.
- Contribute worship ideas, song library submissions, and strategies that help build worshipers and point to Jesus.
- Collaborate in crafting meaningful, intentional, and powerful worship experiences that are in alignment with New Hope Church culture, our worship philosophy, and maintain awareness of the 99 and the ONE.
- Collaborate on all other necessary projects and events.
- Campus Leadership
- Carry and steward the vision of New Hope Church at their campus.
- Draw people into the presence of God through effective and excellent worship leading.
- Clearly communicate spiritual leadership verbally from the stage while leading worship.
- Ensure all worship team members feel needed and known.
- Schedule all musicians and vocalists for their campus.
- Develop worship team members musically with consistent and effective coaching and feedback.
- Spot, recruit, and onboard musicians and vocalists for their campus through the Central Worship onboarding process.
- Oversee the cleanliness, organization, and maintenance of all Green room areas at their campus (creating tickets in Asana, when needed, for repairs or maintenance).
- Lead worship for events that are assigned (funerals, weddings, etc.).
- Campus and Cross-Ministry Collaboration
- Partner and support the Campus Pastor’s vision and direction, collaborating with their Campus Staff team as needed.
- Communicate with their Campus Production Leader or Associate to execute services and events well.
- Partner with NHS staff to provide guidance and discipleship to the student worship teams.
- Create an environment that fosters relationships, feedback, and collaboration across every ministry while making sure to stay away from gossip and toxic behavior.
- Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications:
- To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
- The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
- Minimum of 3 years leading worship in a local church
- Passion for building worshipers of Jesus
- Strong vocalist and ability to lead musicians
- Strong leadership skills to coach and develop contractors and volunteers
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to excellence
- Hardworking, sacrificial team player
- Proficient with music theory, Ableton, and Planning Center
- Ability to learn and use Asana, Rock Management Software and other needed software and programs
