The Youth Pastor position at New Church is a full-time role dedicated to fostering the spiritual development and well-being of our youth in grades six through twelve. This individual will shepherd not only the youth but also their parents, while actively
recruiting and developing a comprehensive team of volunteers. Entrusted with guiding one of the most formative seasons in a person's life, the Youth Pastor will work to implement New Church’s overall vision and mission through a focused and intentional ministry
aimed at pointing our youth toward Christ. Additionally, this position encompasses responsibilities that extend beyond the traditional scope of youth ministry.
The youth pastor candidate should have 3-5 years of full time experience in a church of 500 or more.
Youth Pastor Responsibilities:
- Sunday Morning Preparation. Arrive on campus by 8:00 AM to ensure a smooth start to the day. Check the NCY sign-in area, welcome space, and sound system for readiness.
- Volunteer Leadership. Equip and empower volunteers to create a welcoming and supportive environment for youth.
- Teaching and Programming. Lead the teaching session for middle and high school youth during the Sunday service at 10:45 AM. Plan, implement, and evaluate engaging lessons and activities that align with the NCY mission.
- Volunteer Recruitment and Development. Recruit, train, and develop a comprehensive team of volunteers to support youth programming.
- Alignment with New Church Beliefs. Ensure all content is consistent with the beliefs and teachings of New Church.
- Relational Discipleship. Prioritize relational discipleship over programming to foster meaningful connections among youth.
- Communication. Maintain open lines of communication with parents and students via email and social media platforms.
- Facility Management. Keep the NCY area clean, organized, safe, stocked, and relevant for all activities.
- Budget Management. Oversee the youth ministry budget and manage allocated funds responsibly.
- Service and Outreach. Implement service projects, evangelism initiatives, and relational ministries to enable youth to connect with peers and serve those in need.
- School Engagement. Establish a presence on school campuses to engage with students and foster community ties.
- Event Attendance. Attend off-campus events where youth from the program are participating to show support and build relationships.
- Establish Distinct Middle School and High School Ministries. To effectively transition and expand our current youth ministry by creating separate, targeted ministries for middle school and high school students.
Office and Church Responsibilities:
- Attend weekly staff meetings.
- Attend weekly one-on-one meetings with the Executive Pastor.
- Attend all church-wide gatherings.
- Attend staff / elder events.
- Assist with responsibilities outside of the scope of youth ministry as needed.
- Collaborate with pastoral staff for comprehensive support strategies.
- Agree to the New Church Staff Covenant.

- The mission and vision of NC is brought to life through the youth ministry.
- Development and discipleship of youth ministry is prioritized.
- Scope and Sequence for Youth Growth Plan is prioritized.
- Create an atmosphere where youth are known and loved in an intentional and safe way.
- Team unity is prioritized among the volunteers entrusted to you.
- Show up on time for all meetings and Sunday morning services. (Sundays - 8:00 am arrival)
- Help champion other ministries church-wide. When another area needs help, willingly jump in to serve.
Supervision:
- The Youth Pastor reports to the Executive Pastor.
