The Director of Communications will oversee and manage all internal and external communications for our church, ensuring cohesive messaging and effective communication strategies across various platforms. This role requires a visionary leader who can align communication efforts with the church's mission while supporting various ministries and initiatives.

What you will be doing:
- Website Management:
- Oversee the maintenance and updating of the church website.
- Ensure content is current, accurate, and aligns with the church’s mission and events.
- Email Communication:
- Develop and manage email campaigns for newsletters, announcements, and special events.
- Ensure timely and effective communication with the congregation and stakeholders.
- Staff Communication:
- Facilitate clear and consistent communication among staff members.
- Implement internal communication strategies to support team collaboration and efficiency.
- Ministry Support:
- Provide communication support to various ministry teams.
- Develop materials and strategies to enhance ministry outreach and engagement.
- Church News & Calendar:
- Produce and distribute the Church News, highlighting key events, stories, and updates.
- Maintain and update the church calendar, ensuring all events are accurately reflected and promoted.
- Copywriting & Content Creation:
- Create compelling copy for sermons, promotional materials, social media, and other communication channels.
- Collaborate with creative team members to produce high-quality visual and multimedia content.
- Strategic Communication Planning:
- Develop and implement comprehensive communication strategies that align with the church’s goals.
- Cast a vision for the communication department, driving initiatives that support and enhance the church’s mission.
- Collaboration:
- Work closely with designers, photographers, and videographers to produce cohesive and engaging content.
- Foster a collaborative environment within the Creative Arts team and across other departments
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Experience within/around a large church environment
- Engaged member of Southeast Christian Church, or willing to become one
