Scope of Position:
The Worship and Discipleship Pastor will work closely with the Lead Pastor and elders in developing worship services and discipleship opportunities that will help Living Grace to ‘exalt God and see Him transform lives as we… know, live, and give Grace.’
Position Responsibilities:
Worship:
- Modeling and leading heartfelt worship in an invitational style that draws people into true worship, encourages participation, incorporates Scripture/testimony, and ultimately points people to Jesus Christ.
- Oversight, development, coordination of the worship team.
- Recruiting, training, mentoring volunteer worship leaders, taking worship to ‘next level’ w/ stage presence, expressiveness, re-imagining songs/blending songs, etc.
- Prayerfully screening and selecting worship songs prioritizing the vision, values, and congregation composition of Living Grace.
- Development and implementation of a strategy for adding other appropriate worship service elements.
- Giving leadership/oversight to our technical ministries (sound, video, lighting, Pro Presenter, Planning Center, etc.)
- Responsible for online church presence (website, social media, etc.) and congregation communications (email, text, website, etc.).
- Identifying and developing lay leaders to help assist in championing Tech ministry areas.
Discipleship:
- Leadership and oversight of small group ministry of Living Grace.
- Recruiting, training, resourcing, developing small group leaders.
- Development and implementation of a ‘small group care protocol’ where small group leaders form the first step in caring for the congregation.
- Development of a small group ‘rhythm’ for Living Grace.
- Developing a strategy for growing our small group ministry in congregational participation, in offerings, and in leadership development.
- Researching, evaluating, previewing small group materials.
Other Duties:
- Staff meetings, meetings with oversight, Elder meetings as needed.
- Utilizing other giftings to bless Living Grace and further the Gospel.
- Willingness to preach at times when needed (no more than 4 times a year)
- Other duties as deemed necessary by the lead pastor.
Miscellaneous:
- An ideal candidate would be one who desires to be an integral part of the entire church body
- An ideal candidate would be willing to pursue and complete ministerial license in FEC (if not currently held)
