New Life Methodist is seeking the right person to fill a unique job position of ministering with young people and serving as the music leader for our 11:10am contemporary service. Both of these areas need a strong, dedicated servant of Jesus Christ who has a passion for ministry and a love for people.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrates a strong, growing relationship with Jesus Christ, and is capable of helping others grow in faith.
- Possesses proven leadership skills
- Able to work with a variety of ages
- Communicates clearly and connects relationally with youth, families, and the congregation
- Has strong vocal and instrumental proficiency (e.g., guitar, piano) to lead worship effectively.
- Shows creativity in worship planning, introducing Spirit-led worship effectively.
WORSHIP RESPONSIBILITES: (10 - 15 hours/week)
- Work with the Senior Pastor to develop a weekly order of worship
- Select weekly worship music (communication with the Senior Pastor on themes or special Sundays is encouraged as well as seeking input from band members).
- Direct a weekly rehearsal with the worship band that both prepares for a quality performance on Sunday and develops new music to be introduced to the congregation in future services.
YOUTH RESPONSIBILITES: (25 hours/week)
- Provide leadership for and function as the primary staff person relating to all youth ministries and youth ministry functions
- Plan and oversee a weekly Youth program that includes a balance of fellowship, spiritual growth, and service.
- Work with the Senior Pastor in recruiting and training adult volunteers
- Encourage participation in conference Youth retreats and Youth mission trips.
