CREATIVE EVENTS DIRECTOR
About the Role:
The Creative Events Director is responsible for the successful planning and execution of a wide range of ministry events, including outreaches, conferences, seasonal events, sermon series, ministry campaigns, etc. This role requires strong organizational,
communication, and interpersonal skills, as well as a proactive and detail-oriented approach. An understanding of visual communication will also important. The Creative Events Director will work in close collaboration and partnership with the communications
team and Senior Leadership Team.
Key Responsibilities:
Event Planning & Logistics:
- Lead and inspire a team of volunteers who creatively plan and conduct HCC’s events.
- Develop comprehensive event timelines.
- Manage multiple projects and events in their various stages, prioritizing tasks and deadlines.
- Oversee on-site event operations, including registration, check-in, and attendee support.
- Coordinate travel and accommodation arrangements for speakers.
- Communicate with and provide for the on-site needs of our speakers and special guests.
- Contribute and execute ideas for monthly series and creative sermon illustrations.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in event planning.
- Source and secure venues, vendors (catering, audiovisual, entertainment), and other necessary resources.
- Oversee guest lists, registrations, and RSVPs.
- Oversee event setup and breakdown, ensuring smooth logistics.
Marketing & Promotion:
- To collaborate and provide creative input as a member of the communications team to develop marketing materials and campaigns to be promoted to our community.
Budget Management:
- Negotiate contracts with vendors to secure the best possible pricing.
- Track event expenses and ensure adherence to budget guidelines.
- Meet regularly with the executive pastor to discuss event(s) budget.
Service Responsibilities:
- Serve as the ‘stage manager’ for Sunday morning services, Nights of Worship, and special worship events as needed.
Qualifications:
- Proven ability to plan and execute successful events on time and within budget.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with interpersonal skills.
- Team builder!
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach.
- Ability to work under pressure, take initiative, and meet deadlines.
- Passion for Christian ministry and a strong understanding of church culture.
