Rushford Baptist Church is seeking a senior pastor to lead our congregation. Candidates should demonstrate a solid, orthodox understanding of the Scripture, a gifting for preaching and teaching, and a desire to see believers mature in their walk with the Lord, both through formal church activities such as Bible studies and Sunday school, as well as through building relationships with congregants and community members.
Rushford is a small town in Allegany County in rural western New York. We have approximately 90 regular attendees. This is a slight decline from years past. Nevertheless, our congregation is blessed with many children and young families, as well as long-time members who have faithfully served for decades.
Allegany County is among the poorest in New York state, but rich in natural beauty, including Rushford Lake, a summer vacation community. Nearby Houghton University, a Christian institution, features frequent concerts, art exhibitions and other forms of cultural engagement. In the recent past we've had students from Houghton University attend and serve in our church in various capacities.
