Role Summary

We believe community is the primary venue for discipleship. It is within this context that Jesus-centered growth, accountability, intimacy, and mission take place. The Pastor of Discipleship promotes the implementation and cultivation of vision into community life as lived out through Anthem CDA. Every person has a next step to take on their walk with Jesus, and this key leadership role will thrive in designing effective pathways for people walk in as they become committed discciples of Jesus. 

Anthem Church is a volunteer-driven organization. A key responsibility for all pastor and director positions is to activate, equip, and empower the body of Christ through coaching and mentoring volunteer leaders to coach and mentor volunteers. 

 

General Duties & Responsibilities

  • Work in harmony with Anthem leadership for the implementation of vision and direction of Anthem CDA.
  • Recruit and develop group leaders with continual training and encouragement. 
  • Empower group leaders to promote greater discipleship and spiritual growth utilizing various methods and formats most conducive to developing individuals across a wide range of maturity and needs. 
  • Establish systems support for group leaders, community connections, etc. To include resources, digital and communications tools, and training. 
  • Ensure resources and next steps are in place for various individuals depending on need/stage of life (new believer, committed participant in Anthem, areas to serve, next steps, spiritual disciplines, etc).
  • Foster and develop a model of care for Anthem focused around community groups. Embody and champion this ethos to all staff and group leaders.
  • Produce monthly reports based on meetings, attendance, needs, updates, etc. for our groups and volunteer teams. 
  • Ensure every person that comes in contact with Anthem has a clearly defined and easy to follow “Next Step” on their spiritual formation journey
  • Meet, pray with, and provide pastoral care and spiritual mentorship to the staff, leaders, and volunteers under the discipleship pathways purview.

 

Qualifications

  • Theological harmony and resonance with Anthem CDA.
  • Walks in integrity and cultivates an intimate relationship with Jesus.
  • Engaged in community with other believers; serving, learning, and growing in maturity and wisdom.
  • Seminary or other formal education.

 

Knowledge and Skills

  • 5+ years of creating or procuring curriculum for >300 people. 
  • 5+ years experiencing building teams, training leaders, and activating volunteers.
  • A passion and growing toolset to equip our church body into living life relationally with one another.
  • Strong knowledge and practical understanding of the word of God and ability to articulate and defend the beliefs and principles of Anthem CDA.

 

FLSA Status: 

Exempt Employee

Hours:

40+ hours / week plus special        

events and meetings.

Reports to:

Executive Pastor

Pay Range:

$58k - $70k
