What You’ll Do

In this key leadership role, you’ll work with our Executive Pastor and Administration & Finance Committee to oversee the church’s financial and HR operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Financial Leadership:

  • Managing financial systems, budgets, and reports to keep us on track.
  • Preparing for the annual audit and maintaining relationships with key financial partners.
  • Overseeing contribution processing, expense reconciliation, and compliance with all regulations.
  • Mentoring and cross-training the Finance & HR Coordinator to ensure smooth operations.

Human Resources Management:

  • Leading payroll, onboarding, and benefits administration with efficiency and care.
  • Ensuring compliance with policies and laws while maintaining a positive staff culture.
  • Coordinating with the Board of Pension and other providers for accurate benefits management.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in accounting, business, or finance (Bachelor’s preferred).
  • At least 3 years of experience in financial management and accounting.
  • Familiarity with HR best practices and a passion for cultivating a healthy team environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, payroll systems, and financial software.
  • Emotional intelligence, integrity, and the ability to build trust with staff and members.

Bonus Points:

  • Experience working with large churches.
  • Knowledge of tools like Shelby Financial, One Church Software, or Mailchimp.
