Overview
LBC is looking for a faithful and passionate Pastor to shepherd our congregation, guide spiritual growth, and lead us in fulfilling our mission to glorify God through worship, discipleship, and outreach. This individual will be a servant leader, committed
to sound biblical teaching, community building, and equipping believers to live out their faith in practical ways.
Responsibilities
- Preaching and Teaching
- Provide biblically sound and engaging sermons weekly.
- Teach and equip the congregation through Bible studies, small groups, ensuring alignment with Scripture.
- Ensure all teaching aligns with Scripture and doctrinal integrity (see
LBC Statement of Faith).
- Pastoral Care
- Provide spiritual counseling, guidance, and prayer to members of the congregation.
- Visit members in hospitals, homes, or care facilities as needed.
- Officiate weddings, funerals, believers’ baptisms, and other church ceremonies.
- Vision and Leadership
- Work with various ministry leaders to lay out and implement a biblical vision for the church.
- Encourage and guide the church in fulfilling its mission locally and globally.
- Mentor and equip leaders and volunteers to serve effectively, fostering collaboration and spiritual growth within ministries.
- Community Engagement
- Actively engage with the local community to build relationships and share the gospel.
- Lead and support outreach efforts and missions.
- Be a visible and approachable representative of LBC.
- Administrative Duties
- Collaborate with the church’s deacons and ministry leaders in planning and decision-making.
- Oversee church operations, staff, and ministry initiatives.
- Ensure clear and effective communication within the church and the communities where we live and serve.
- Discipleship
- Foster a culture of discipleship, encouraging members to grow in their faith and serve others.
- Provide personal mentorship and foster spiritual accountability among leaders.
- Promote small group engagement and personal relationships as avenues for spiritual growth.
Qualifications
- Biblical Qualifications: A lifestyle consistent with 1 Timothy 3:1-7 and Titus 1:6-9.
- Spiritual Maturity: A vibrant and growing relationship with Jesus Christ, shown by a life of prayer, integrity, and humility.
- Education (preferred): Bachelor’s degree in theology, ministry, or biblical studies.
- Experience: Proven experience in pastoral leadership or ministry of at last five years.
- Doctrinal Alignment: Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and values of LBC (see
LBC Statement of Faith).
- Communication: Strong public speaking, teaching, and people skills.
- Leadership: Proved ability to lead with vision, motivate others, and foster teamwork.
Expectations
- Commitment to equipping the congregation with the “full armor of God” (Ephesians 6:10-18).
- Willingness to address challenges head-on with faith, perseverance, and grace.
- Foster unity and encourage church members to actively take part in the life and mission of LBC.

Expectations:
- Availability for a video interview with member(s) of LBC search committee.
- Availability to visit the church and Bristol over a weekend, meet with the search committee, preach on Sunday morning, and engage in a Q&A with the congregation.
