Worship Leader

Our Area – Angola is a town within Steuben County Indiana with a population of just over 9,000 residents. It is the home of Trine University. Steuben County has 101 lakes and is a great vacation town with tons of things to do. We are also only 45 minutes from Fort Wayne.

Our Church – Founded in 1992, SonLight Community Church is part of the FEC, Fellowship of Evangelical Churches. We are a church of 160 and growing. We have a great group of volunteers that desire to praise God through worship. The last piece we are looking for is the right worship leader to take SonLight to the next level.

Our Opportunity – SonLight is seeking the right candidate to be our next Full-Time Worship Leader. Our vision for this position is to hire someone with a heart for the local church and its people. A person who has a passion for people and is intentional in shepherding, discipling, and developing men and women. A person who is willing to fully integrate into the church and do life alongside the people of Sonlight Community Church. A person who has the desire and the ability to take the worship ministry to the next level in preparing people’s hearts for worship not only in our Sunday gatherings but in everyday life. The right candidate should also have the ability to create graphics and manage SonLight’s social media accounts. This person will have a servant’s heart, and a humble spirit, be transparent and authentic in relationships, and exemplify a life that has been and continues to be transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of worship ministry including weekly gatherings and special events.
• Develop a weekly order of service, including song selection, and volunteer coordination in conjunction with the Lead Pastor.
• Direct weekly rehearsals with the Worship Team.
• Organize, direct, shepherd, and develop the worship team to be excellent and God-honoring in our Sunday Morning gatherings.
• Create, schedule and administer churches social media post throughout the week.

Skills and Qualifications

• Clear testimony of Salvation in Jesus Christ.
• 2 or more years experience in planning, preparing, and leading worship services.
• Ability to create exciting graphics and oversee church social media.
• Engaging platform presence 
• Skilled Vocal ability
• Proficient in playing an instrument in the worship band.
• Basic understanding of the technology used in worship, lighting, software, and soundboards with the willingness to learn. 
• Humble and patient leader with strong interpersonal skills with a heart for discipling and developing people.
• Able to read music.
• Be willing to get licensed through the FEC within the 1^st year of hire.
• Experience with song select and pro presenter.
• Preferred but not required is experience with graphics, platform design and setup.
