Encounter Church is a vibrant, Spirit-filled community dedicated to connecting people to God, fostering authentic relationships, and guiding individuals to take their Next Step. The Worship Pastor at the Orange County campus will play a pivotal role in leading
our congregation into authentic, Spirit-led worship, cultivating a culture of praise, and developing a dynamic worship ministry. This individual will oversee all aspects of worship, including planning, music, team development, songwriting, and execution, while
ensuring excellence and spiritual depth.

Key Responsibilities
Worship Leadership
- Lead weekly worship experiences that are Spirit-filled, engaging, and Christ-centered. This includes overseeing all worship experiences at the OC(Orange County) Campus (Sundays, Youth, Young Adults, etc.).
- Collaborate with the Campus Pastor and worship staff to plan services that align with sermon themes and church vision.
- Foster an atmosphere where the congregation can connect deeply with God through worship.
Team Development
- Recruit, train, and mentor worship team members, including vocalists, instrumentalists, and technical staff.
- Develop and shepherd a culture of spiritual growth, unity, and excellence within the team.
- Coordinate auditions, rehearsals, and ongoing skill development for team members.
Songwriting & Creative Contribution
- Contribute to the creative culture of the church by writing, arranging, and developing original worship songs that reflect the heart and mission of Encounter Church.
- Collaborate with other team members on new worship content and ensure alignment with Encounter’s vision and theological integrity.
Service Planning & Execution
- Plan and execute worship sets, ensuring a seamless flow between elements of the service.
- Collaborate with the production staff and team to enhance worship experiences with sound, lighting, and media.
- Stay current on trends in worship music while incorporating songs that reflect the heart of Encounter Church.
Administration & Collaboration
- Manage the worship ministry budget for the OC Campus, including purchasing resources and equipment.
- Maintain and update worship-related technology, instruments, and software.
- Collaborate with other campus worship pastors to ensure alignment with the broader vision of Encounter Church.
Pastoral Care
- Provide spiritual guidance and support to the worship team and congregation as needed.
- Actively participate in the life of the church, including small groups, outreach events, and other activities.
Qualifications
Spiritual Qualifications
- A mature, growing relationship with Jesus Christ.
- Alignment with the beliefs and values of Encounter Church.
- A heart for worship and a passion for leading others into God’s presence.
- Demonstrated ability to shepherd and disciple others.
Professional Qualifications
- Proven experience in leading worship in a church setting.
- Skilled vocalist with knowledge of instrumentation; proficiency in keys or guitar is preferred.
- Experience in songwriting and arranging worship songs.
- Familiarity with modern worship music and proficiency in worship-related technology (e.g., Planning Center, Ableton Live, ProPresenter).
- Familiarity with the Nashville Number System.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Ability to thrive in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.
