Ministry Description: Middle School Pastor/Director

Parkway Church on the Mountain is praying and searching for God’s person to join the Next Generation Team. We are looking for someone who has the right character, chemistry, and competence to grow a already exciting Middle School ministry
Position Summary
The Middle School Pastor is responsible for leading and developing the middle school ministry (grades 6-8) at Parkway Church on the Mountain. This individual will disciple students, equip and train volunteers, and foster an engaging environment for spiritual growth through worship, teaching, small groups, and events.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership and Vision
Provide spiritual leadership and direction for the middle school ministry, aligning with the church’s vision.
Develop and implement a strategic plan for weekly services, small groups, and events.
Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers to serve in various roles, including small group leaders, tech, and check-in teams.
Weekly Services
Prepare and deliver engaging, Biblically-based sermons for Wednesday night services.
Organize and oversee stage games, worship, and media (slides and playlists).
Set up and tear down youth equipment and ensure readiness for services.
Discipleship
Develop and oversee small groups, training and supporting small group leaders.
Build relationships with students through one-on-one mentoring and attending extracurricular activities.
Provide follow-up with new families and students to ensure a welcoming environment.
Event Planning
Plan and execute impactful events, such as summer camps, retreats, and holiday-themed activities.
Oversee all logistical aspects, including volunteer coordination, budget management, and tech needs.
Administrative Duties
Schedule and communicate with volunteers to ensure adequate coverage for services and events.
Maintain a presence on social media platforms to connect with students and parents.
Track attendance and maintain records for ministry growth and engagement.
Participate in leadership team meetings and collaborate with other ministry leaders.
Qualifications
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a passion for middle school students.
Bachelor’s degree in ministry, theology, or a related field (preferred).
Proven experience in student ministry, leadership, or volunteer coordination.
Excellent communication, organizational, and team-building skills.
