Student Pastor

REPORTS TO: Local Church Dawson Lead Pastor

STATUS: Full time in Dawsonville, GA

PURPOSE: Leading the 6th-12th graders to fully follow Jesus. To meet students where they are and create spaces to help them move closer to Jesus while partnering with parents and caregivers by working through equipped and empowered volunteers. 

KEY RESULTS:

Lead a healthy and engaging student ministry

• Oversee all Large Group & Small Group spaces.
• Ensure all teaching is age specific & theologically sound.
• Be a good steward of the budget, building, resources and time.
• Create opportunities for discipleship & next steps. 
• Relationally lead and disciple students.

Develop a healthy and thriving volunteer team and culture

• Cast vision for why & how we do ministry.
• Recruit, equip and empower volunteers.
• Effectiviely communicate with volunteers. 
• Know your volunteers & build relationships. 
• Shepherd your volunteers: care for, pray for, appreciate and celebrate volunteers.
• Lead by example.

Create a safe and secure environment for students and volunteers

• Understand all aspects of the Volunteer Handbook and train volunteers accordingly. 
• Plan and prepare for programs, trips, events, etc…
• Keep healthy and open communication with other staff team members and ask questions.
• Seek feedback.

Partner with parents and caregivers

• Effectively communicate with parents regularly.
• Be available, responsive and professional. 
• Listen to understand parents perspective.
• Equip parents to lead and disciple their teens.
