Academy Christian recently celebrated its 50th anniversary and is part of the Restoration Movement brotherhood of churches (independent, non-denominational). ACC was planted by Central Christian of Colorado Springs, which is now ACC’s second campus due to its decline. The church has grown from approximately 300 in attendance to 1300 in the last 18 years and has gone through several major facilities expansions, including the most recent for Children’s Ministries, which not only provides for the ongoing ACC children’s programming, but also include a partnership with Lionheart Children’s Academy for full-time and part-time childcare Monday through Friday, eventually serving approximately 300 children every day. There have been two notable senior pastors through the years, Richard Crabtree, who still attends the church, and Bryan Myers, who is now in his 18th year as senior pastor.
