About us: We're not the perfect church looking for the perfect vocalist musician, worship leader, and shepherd of the teams. But God is doing some great stuff around here, and we're growing. Currently we worship 460 in-person over 2 services (spirited traditional and contemporary). If you add in children, youth, and concurrent online viewers, we're close to 600 on Sunday mornings.
About you: We are looking for a winsome and growing Jesus-follower who is gifted in worship leadership, music, artistry with vocals, musicianship, arranging, ministry, and people. We highly value team-building, a variety of music, and a sense of humor. We are looking for someone with ability who can reach and engage younger generations and families.
Our vision: We are a multigenerational church of disciple-making disciples of Jesus Christ, our Savior-Redeemer. Together we will sow seeds of revival by equipping everyone with love and scripture. Our focus is to build up new generations and famlies to find abundant life in the Holy Spirit - fully committed, submitted, equipped, and transformed.
Physically our church feels like a retreat center (on a former Boy Scout Camp) including a big lawn for games, a firepit, gaga ball pit, sand volleyball pit, and the Huron River running behind our church that we use for baptisms! The church began in 1832, moved to the current location in the 1990s and today has a beautiful campus including a youth building, gym, and large atrium. (Oh yeah, and a great sanctuary)!
Dexter, Michigan is a beautiful small town right outside Ann Arbor which houses the University of Michigan and all the opportunities there. 1/2 our folks come from Dexter and 1/2 come from the many towns around us.
A Global Methodist Church: We are part of a brand-new branch on the Christian family tree. In less that two years it has grown to nearly 5,000 churches across the globe, with 35 Conferences in 13 countries, speaking 7 different languages. Locally, over the last 5 years we went through a time of research, discernment, prayer and conversation and have come our stronger and more focused on revival and discipleship than ever before. It's almost like we're a 192-year-old church plant.
