THE ROLE

The Worship Leader will be involved in planning, conducting, and evaluating a comprehensive Worship Arts Ministry. Skyline Church is a multisite, multi-generational congregation with campuses in La Mesa, CA; Lakeside, CA; and Franklin, TN. The Worship Leader will not only be supporting our Lakeside campus but also at our main campus in La Mesa, CA. The Worship Leader will report to the Creative and Worship Arts Pastor.

RESPONSIBLE FOR:

1. Modeling Biblical Priorities


The Worship Leader is responsible for upholding Biblical priorities and core values of Skyline
Church. They should represent a growing personal relationship with Christ. The Worship Leader
models a strong relationship with his or her spouse (if married) and children (if applicable).
The Worship Leader strives to fulfill his or her purpose while demonstrating integrity in words,
relationships, and actions. These objectives are accomplished by:


• Committing to a daily quiet time with God.
• Setting appropriate boundaries to protect character and integrity.
• Developing personal evangelism opportunities with your Oikos outside the church.
• Supporting the ministries of Skyline Church by faithfully giving at least 10% of
  gross income.
• Adhering to and encompassing the qualities and characteristics required of Skyline
  Church employees, as defined by the Staff Handbook and Core Identity Book.
• Lead with a servant’s heart, demonstrate genuine care and concern while acting with
 humility and integrity when encouraging the efforts of all team members (1 Peter 5:1-4).


2. Job Responsibilities and Duties


• Lead worship at our Lakeside Campus worship services according to that week’s needs, and at our Rancho Campus when     needed.
• Help in the process of crafting the worship experience for all services (creating a unified experience across all campuses).
• Recruit, schedule, and manage musicians and vocalists.
• Run weekly worship rehearsals in preparation for weekend services.
• Produce seasonal special events including but not limited to Good Friday, Christmas Eve,
  and Easter Services.
• Work with and develop younger worship leaders in the middle school and high school
   ministries, creating a culture of worship that carries through the generations.
• Give oversight to all technical team leaders (sound, lights and video).

2. Music & Technical Skillset
• Strong Voice.
• Able to lead worship with guitar.
• Able to lead a vocal team, including the arranging and teaching of vocal parts.
• Able to direct a rhythm section with a working understanding of all instruments.
• A working understanding of Planning Center, ProPresenter and Ableton (MainStage, Logic
  and/or Protools is a bonus).
• Competent in Final Cut Pro and the Adobe Suite is preferable.
• A working knowledge of A/V, as this position would oversee all tech.
