Job Title: Next Gen Pastor

 

Reports to:  Senior Pastor

 

Position Summary:

The Point Church in Pensacola, Florida is prayerfully searching to fill the role of Next Gen Pastor.  This member of our team will play a vital role in the spiritual growth and development of our church’s youth, leading ministry initiatives for teenagers and families with Christ-centered passion and integrity. This individual will be dedicated to fostering a biblically grounded, Spirit-filled environment that promotes discipleship, community, and service. Serving as a mentor and shepherd, the Next Gen Pastor will equip the next generation with tools to build their faith, all while aligning closely with the broader mission of our church.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  1. Preach and Teach Biblically Sound Doctrine: Deliver expository, engaging messages to youth that are biblically rooted and relevant to their lives. Instill a love for God’s Word and a deep understanding of Scripture.

 

  1. Spiritual Leadership: Maintain high moral character, filled with the Holy Spirit, reflecting Christ in all areas of life, both personally and professionally. Model self-control, discipline, and integrity, especially as a godly husband and father.

 

  1. Youth and Family Ministry: Lead programs focused on spiritual growth and community-building for youth and their families. Foster an environment where teenagers feel valued, supported, and challenged in their faith journey.

 

  1. Team Collaboration and Leadership: Serve as a collaborative member of the pastoral team, bringing a team-oriented approach. Lead, mentor, and develop other leaders and volunteers within the youth ministry, fostering a spirit of unity and growth.

 

  1. Pastoral Care: Exhibit a shepherd’s heart, providing compassionate care and guidance to youth and families. Be proactive in meeting needs within the church, ministering with a servant’s heart and a strong work ethic.

 

  1. Organizational and Administrative Excellence: Plan and organize youth events, studies, and outreach programs with an eye for detail and thoughtfulness. Maintain an organized and conscientious approach to managing ministry responsibilities.

 

  1. Personal Growth and Development: Be a lifelong learner, staying updated on ministry trends, culturally relevant topics, and innovative approaches to Next Gen ministry. Exhibit humility, a teachable spirit, and openness to growth, demonstrating a heart that’s coachable.

 

Qualifications:

 

- Education: Degree from an accredited seminary or Christian college.

- Experience: Proven experience working in a Southern Baptist church is preferred, with experience on a pastoral team being a plus.

- Theological Alignment: Theologically conservative and aligned with the church’s core beliefs. Affirming of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000.

- Cultural Awareness: A grasp on ministry trends and cultural awareness to connect effectively with today’s youth.
