Next Gen/Family Pastor

At CrossPoint Church in East Peoria, the four values we hold most dear are the intentions we balance as followers of Jesus, both individually and collectively. They focus on the environments in which we spend our time (connect and influence) and the actions we do in them (grow and serve), seeking to keep our eyes on Jesus and His perfect example of keeping all these intentions equally and steadily. We are currently looking for a new Next Gen or Family Pastor. We are seeking a man with a shepherd's heart and the ability to oversee and participate in our children's and youth ministries, while also serving in other areas as needed. We're looking from someone who can foster a path of discipleship from birth that eventually feeds out of high school and into the adult areas of our church in a healthy way.

Position Status 

1. Full-time pastoral salary position based on a 45-hour average work week.

Position Requirements  

1. Willing to surrender to God's guidance and serve His Church with passion.
2. Living a life which models that of a disciple of Jesus Christ.
3. Adherance to the Scriptural qualifications of an elder as outlined in 1 Tim. 3:1-7 and Titus 1:5-9.
4. Alignment with the CrossPoint Church vision and Statement of Beliefs.
5. Willing to function (with his wife) as de-facto member(s) of CrossPoint Church.
6. Adherence to the CrossPoint Employee Handbook.
7. Willingness and ability to work under the oversight of the elders and Senior Pastor.
8. Willingness and ability to work alongside church staff members, ministry leaders and volunteers.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Family Pastor  

1. Personal Responsibilities
   • Continue to pursue a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.
   • Make time for rest and self-care.
   • Care for your spouse and children in a Godly way.
   • Take part in the general life of our church.
2. Overall Ministry Responsibilities (10%)
   • Oversee the spiritual health of families within the church. 
   • Coordinate programming to foster a cohesive path for families to grow together with the overall vision of CrossPoint.
3. Children’s Ministry Responsibilities (30%)
   • Lead, work with, recruit and develop volunteers for the children's ministry on Sunday morning.
   • Oversee all aspects of the Sunday morning children's ministry.
   • Lead and work with the nursery coordinator to maintain a healthy and safe nursery ministry for Sunday morning.
   • Partner with parents and children’s leaders to grow children into disciples of Christ. 
   • Develop further programming as fitting with the direction of CrossPoint Church.
4. Youth Ministry Responsibilities (40%)
   • Recruit and Develop teams of volunteers for weekly youth ministry programs and events.
   • Oversee all aspects of the weekly youth programming.
   • Partner with parents and youth leaders to grow youth into disciples of Christ.
   • Develop further programming to fit with the direction of CrossPoint Church.
5. Other Responsibilities (20%)
   • Support the Senior Pastor as needed, particularly on Sunday mornings when he is away.
   • Attend a weekly staff meeting.

Education and Experience 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Theological/Biblical Studies or a related field.
• Minimum of 2 years in vocational or pastoral ministry is preferred. 

Family Pastor Compensation Range 

Financial compensation (housing allowance/salary) will total $44,000 annually. Additional benefits include financial provision for health insurance, retirement (5%), life insurance and disability insurance (paid out as an additional $14,000).
