Pathway Church in Beaver Falls, PA is a vibrant church 40 miles North of Pittsburgh, known for significant family ministry. Pathway Church is a place emphasizing discovery in Jesus. They provide a safe place for those who are searching, and also those hungry to grow on their journey with Christ. The style of worship and teaching is engaging, applicable, and focuses on Biblical, expository preaching. The model of leadership is Elder directed and Staff led. Lead Pastor Jeff McNicol has faithfully served the church for over 25 years and Executive Pastor John Westurn, 17 years. The church currently sees around 1,200 in total attendance over five worship services through the week. They have a Thursday night service, two on Sunday with a streaming classic venue and an off-site Campus location 21 miles South. 

The church desires to reach families in Beaver county and beyond through offering an incredible discipleship-based kid’s ministry. Nursery, Preschool and Elementary environments are offered at the two Sunday service times, 9AM & 10:45AM. Kid’s ministry runs two programs for the community during the Thursday night worship service: AWANA and a secondary midweek program. With a history of purposeful impact, the church identified an opportunity to invest in the future and completed a new 2,200 square foot wing for kid’s ministry, a weekday preschool and the only indoor playland in Beaver county, which is open to the community. 

The church is seeking the right candidate to provide leadership as the new Children’s Ministry Director to oversee their entire birth through fifth grade and be the primary visionary for all things Kids’s Ministry.. The right candidate will have a deep personal life in Christ and the character and capacity that align with the church’s overall mission and vision. Below are the qualifications and responsibilities Froot Group and the church have identified for this role:

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide vision, leadership and oversight for the Children’s ministry.
  • Supervise paid staff (assistant, preschool director, midweek director, special needs coordinator, etc.).
  • Develop teams to assist with the tasks of operating an active kid’s ministry program.
  • Recruit and provide ongoing training and development for leaders and volunteers within the kids ministry.
  • Offer periodical special outreach events for kids.
  • Offer pastoral care to kids and their parents in conjunction with other ministry staff.
  • Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of curriculum and programs/events, making changes when necessary.
  • Work with the safety team to ensure the safety and security of all the activities in the kid’s ministry.
  • Provide leadership in other ministry areas as appropriate and as time permits.



QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Character: The Children’s Director must be a person of irreproachable character (1 Timothy 3:1-7; Titus 1:5-9), who is sound in faith and doctrine. They must be in full accord with the Evangelical Free Church Statement of Faith and be willing to perform their duties in accordance with the Constitution and By-laws of the church.
  • Leadership: Able to set a compelling vision based on our purposes as a church, applied to the specific ministry areas of responsibility.
  • Management: Demonstrated ability to recruit, equip, and lead ministry systems and volunteers.
  • Knowledge: Demonstrated desire to be a life-long learner. Possesses significant knowledge of ministry needs and processes for equipping believers to complete the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) and the Great Commandment (Matthew 22:37-40).
  • Education: Minimum of a bachelor’s degree and training in the areas of ministry responsibility.
  • Team Player: Committed to the vision of the church, able to take direction from their supervisor and work cooperatively with other members of the staff and congregation
  • Experience: 3-5 years experience recommended.
