Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Summary: The Pastor of Youth is responsible for giving vision, direction, oversight, and structure to the Youth Ministry of Bucks County Community Church (BCCC). The core purpose is to make disciples of Jesus Christ through biblical instruction, fellowship, and outreach opportunities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spiritual
- Commit the work of Youth Ministry to faithful prayer.
- Develop committed followers of Jesus through Youth Ministry.
- Plan and / or support evangelistic events through Youth Ministry
- Provide spiritual, theological and moral training through formal and informal teaching.
- Equip volunteers and lay leaders to assist in the shepherding process.
Relational
- Help to resolve conflict when it arises between parents, leaders or students.
- Keep parents informed of what is happening in Youth Ministry.
- Plan monthly activities, separate from Sunday evening Youth Ministry gathering, to stimulate community and opportunity for discipleship and outreach among youth.
- Work with Children’s Ministry to integrate 5th graders into Youth Ministry.
- Work with key ministry leaders of other “in house” ministries to provide learning opportunities through workshops, seminars and small groups that will help parents and volunteers.
Administrative
- Develop vision, direction and goals that are in line with those of BCCC annually.
- Recruit and train all teachers and assistants in Youth Ministry and youth Sunday School.
- Organize and run training and planning meetings with youth staff and/or teachers.
- Prepare and manage Youth Ministry budget.
- Evaluate and select curriculum for Youth Ministry.
- Review and update Youth Ministry policies when necessary
General
- Assist the Lead Pastor with discipleship, community building and pastoral care
- Collaborate with the Pastor and lay leaders to develop and execute the vision of BCCC to make mature disciples who make disciples.
- Attend Elder meetings
- Attend Leadership Prayer Breakfasts
Qualifications: The ideal candidate…
- Has a clear calling to the office of pastor and a lifestyle consistent with the qualifications explained in 1 Timothy 3 and Titus 1.
- Demonstrates a steadfast commitment to doctrinal and relational maturity with the desire for ongoing personal, and spiritual growth.
- Exhibits clear evidence of strong integrity, maturity, and morality.
- Will be willing to work a non-traditional, flexible work schedule in order to accommodate typical ministry needs and demands.
- Has the Ability to manage and work well with others in all age groups and maturity levels.
- Holds a bachelor’s degree in Bible or related theological degree, or commensurate ministry training, experience and aptitude.
- Has a commitment to and passion for evangelism within the context of the local church, the surrounding community and the world.
- Has exceptional organizational and planning skills.
- Has a genuine commitment to the ministry and mission of BCCC.
- Is in full agreement with the doctrinal statement of BCCC.
- Has a willingness and commitment to put the needs, interests, and unity of the church ahead of personal preference or conviction.
- Has a clear demonstration of humility and a teachable spirit.
- Is self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
