OVERVIEW:

Do you have a heart for creating fun, engaging, and irresistible environments where kids can grow in their knowledge of God and build lasting relationships? We are looking for an enthusiastic, creative, and dedicated Kids Director to lead and inspire the next generation of Houston Church!

In this role, you’ll have the incredible opportunity to shape a dynamic kids ministry that fosters spiritual growth, encourages creativity, and builds a solid foundation of faith for kids ages in Waumba Land (0-5YRS) and UpStreet (K-5TH Grade). HOUSTON CHURCH:
We are a Northpoint Strategic Partner in Perry, GA - Just south of Macon, GA. We are relaunching with a new location that is currently being renovated to fit the mission and strategy of Houston Church. We are building a dynamic team to be FOR Houston County and to reach those that are far from Jesus. We are looking for someone that is driven, a team builder, ready to create a fun, engaging and irresistible kids ministry, and lead volunteers to reach the next generation.

Purpose Statement:

To inspire people to follow Jesus by creating engaging environments where kids, their parents and volunteers learn to trust God no matter what, make wise choices and build friendships that last.

Key Measurements of Success:

1. Evidence of kids developing a faith of their own
2. Attendance trends year-over-year (On Sunday and at events)
3. Percentage of fully led groups

2. A team player who’s able to manage the tensions of organizing two separate environments

4. Clear and effective communication skills (speaking and writing) to both internal and external audiences

Requirements:

1. 3+ years in ministry
2. 2+ years team leadership experience
3. Bachelor’s degree

Responsibilities:

1. Leadership
2. • Prioritize and pursue a growing relationship with Jesus Christ
   • Be a raving fan of Houston Church by personally engaging with and positively reflecting the vision, mission and strategy to everyone inside and outside of the church
   • Inspire, equip and empower the UpStreet and Waumba Land team (contractors and volunteers) to personally engage with the mission, vision and strategy of Houston Church. Work with the Lead Pastor to ensure that Houston Church is a great local church for the families in our community, while also being a part of a great group of churches
   • Attend weekly meetings
   • Work with the Lead Pastor to create and manage the annual UpStreet and Waumba Land budget for Houston Church
   • Ensures the kids ministry remains focused on partnering with parents of kids and our three basic truths
3. Experience and Environment
   • Oversee and lead both Sunday morning and additional community UpStreet and Waumba Land environments
   • Work with the Lead Pastor to regularly evaluate, improve, develop and implement systems designed to create an unforgettable UpStreet and Waumba Land experience (classrooms, events, look and feel, training, etc.)
   • Oversee and lead teams for Promotion, Kick-Off, Strategic Service, JumpStart, Family Birthday Celebration, and other special events
4. Volunteer Management
   • Recruit, train, develop, and oversee a world class UpStreet and Waumba Land volunteer team that creates excellent environments that immediately engage children and their parents to want to come back. (Captains, coaches, Hosts, Small Group Leaders, Storytellers, Production)
   • Work with the Lead Pastor to oversee and lead the new volunteer process (recruitment, training, screening, etc.)
   • Pastor kids volunteers and families of Houston Church with elementary and early childhood aged children
5. All Other
   • Be the face of our Houston Elementary Ministry in the community and local schools
   • Work with the Lead Pastor to create new ways to partner with parents and kids in our community and to take our church’s influence to the next level in our community and organization
   • Utilize individual gifts and talents at Houston Church
   • All other duties assigned.
