Job Summary:

To advance OWCC's mission by leading creative arts and production efforts that enhance worship experiences, engage the congregation and community, and support seamless, collaborative church activities.

Primary Duties: 

  1. Create and execute a strategic vision for creative arts and production that enhances worship experiences and aligns with OWCC’s mission and values.
  2. Oversee the setup and operation of AVL equipment, including sound systems, projectors, LED walls, and cameras, ensuring high-quality performance for all church events and services.
  3. Ensure consistency and alignment of OWCC’s brand identity across various platforms, both online and offline, to maintain a unified and professional image.
  4. Manage all aspects of in-house video production, from concept creation through to final execution, ensuring content supports the church's vision and effectively communicates its message.
  5. Oversee and manage social media platforms, including coordinating with contractors to develop and implement strategies that enhance the church's online presence, engagement, and community outreach.
  6. Ensure high-quality audio and visual elements during worship services, events, and productions, maintaining professional standards for all technical aspects.
  7. Lead the design and development of all church-wide branding and promotional materials, ensuring high standards of creativity, excellence, and effectiveness.
  8. Stay informed about the latest technological advancements and integrate new technologies that enhance the church’s worship and communication capabilities.
  9. Identify and resolve technical issues related to audio, video, and lighting systems to ensure smooth operation during events and services.
  10. Work closely with the media production team to enhance the technical aspects of livestreams, including video quality, audio clarity, and overall streaming reliability.
  11. Recruit, train, empower, and schedule qualified and committed volunteer teams, ensuring adherence to onboarding procedures and effective team management.
  12. Utilize technology and online platforms to engage the community and facilitate communication within and outside the church.
  13. Collaborate with church leadership to ensure ministry activities align with the overall strategic goals of OWCC, attend staff meetings, provide regular updates and reports on ministry progress, and handle other assigned duties as needed.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in arts, music, theater, production management, film, media studies, graphic design, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute for formal education.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in creative arts, production management, or a similar role, including a demonstrated track record in creating, managing, and executing creative content and projects, as well as successful project management and team leadership.

Knowledge and Abilities:

  1. Proficiency with Mac OS and Google Suite is required; familiarity with Planning Center Online, Slack, and Basecamp is advantageous.
  2. Knowledge of lighting principles and design to create appropriate atmospheres for worship services and events.
  3. Familiarity with live streaming platforms and technology to ensure high-quality online broadcasts and digital engagement.
  4. Proficiency in multimedia production, including video editing, graphics creation, and presentation software, to enhance creative content.
  5. In-depth knowledge of audiovisual equipment and systems used in church settings, including sound systems, cameras, projectors, and LED walls.
  6. Understanding of branding strategies and the ability to maintain a consistent brand identity across various platforms and media.
  7. Knowledge of creative processes, including design principles, visual storytelling, and artistic direction, to drive effective and engaging creative projects.
  8. Familiarity with web development tools and content management systems, and best practices for creating an engaging and user-friendly website.
  9. Ability to stay informed about the latest technological advancements relevant to church social media, digital marketing, audiovisual, and production needs.
  10. Strong skills in planning, organizing, and executing complex creative projects and events, ensuring they align with the church’s mission and goals.
  11. Capability to lead and manage teams effectively, providing direction, support, and professional development opportunities to staff and volunteers involved in creative arts and production.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  

Periodic lifting/carrying of items weighing up to 50 pounds; required visual acuity, speech, and hearing; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination essential for operating a computer keyboard and basic office equipment. Tasks may involve sitting, standing, reaching, walking, twisting, and kneeling to fulfill essential functions. Work primarily takes place within an indoor office environment.
