Key Roles:
- Lead Teaching Pastor. The Lead Pastor is responsible for embodying and thoughtfully teaching sound doctrine that engages our cultural moment (“rule of faith”), as well as our framework for spiritual formation (“rule of life”).
- Chief Shepherd. The Lead Pastor shepherds the church and staff through a ministry of relational presence- being fully present to God, himself, and others. Given the limitations of a church our size, this will mostly mean equipping leaders
and creating good care systems that allow community members to care for one another.
- Leader Among Leaders. The Lead Pastor is appointed by the Elders & Board of Directors as the senior organizational leader. He is responsible for initiating the discernment of a Spirit-prompted theological vision and working collaboratively
with other leaders to cultivate health, maturity, and flourishing for our church and world.
- Developer of Others. The Lead Pastor holistically develops and coaches other leaders in order to enrich their calling, character, gifts, and ministry leadership to serve the broader church community.
Qualifications:
- Strong leadership, communication, and relational skills.
- A contemplative presence who slows down to lead from loving union with God.
- Formal theological education: masters degree in theology or equivalent 8+years of local church pastoral experience.
- Deep understanding of biblical theology, spiritual formation, organizational leadership, and Western cultural trends
