Looking for a DCFS Certified Director for our daycare program, Faith Early Learning Center (FELC). FELC is a licensed Illinois child care center, located in Davis, Illinois as part of Faith Community Church. FELC provides rich and varied educational experiences and services to children age 2-12 and their families. Children age 2-5 years are served all year, with options for half day or full day care. During the school year FELC provides before & after school care and care on closed school days for school-age kids. During the summer FELC offers care for children age 2-12 with the half or full day options.
The Director will be responsible for supervision of the program, including curriculum implementaiton & training; supervision of the staff (3 teachers 1 assistant 1 pt kitchen person), including leading the staff professionally and spiritueally, scheduling work and prep times, supporting classroom policies, behavior concerns, etc., scheduling training as needed, and conducting regular staff meetings. Administrative duties would also include maintaining a good working relationship with DCFS, knowing licensing standards, current guidelines and requirements. The Director would be in charge of communication with parents, from the first enrollment throughout the program year in person, by phone, and through email & printed communications on a regular basis. The Director is also responsible for the planning of meals & snacks, ordering food & supplies, classroom supplies, hygiene supplies to conform with health codes.
The goal of FELC is to stimulate each child's physical, mental, emotional, and social development while maintaining a strong spiritual element. We desire for each child to learn about Jesus and how He wants us to live. With the understanding that play is their "work", a balance of child-initiated and teacher-directed activities help to prepare the children for future academic development and growth.
Located in a town of 750 people and surrounded by farmland, Faith Community has about 350 adults, youth, and children attending worship services and Sunday Children's Minsitry each weekend. Faith Community draws from a greater than 20 mile radius which includes a number of small towns and a gated community development, Lake Summerset. There are approximately 260 members of Faith Community. Faith Community is made up of people with diverse occupational backgrounds, including professionals, educators, farmers, construction workers, and people of industry to name a few. The church includes individuals and families across the entire age spectrum.
Faith Community Church staff includes a Senior Pastor, Associate Pastor of Students, Associate Pastor of Assimilation, Worship Ministry Director, Women's Ministry Director, Children's Ministry Director, as well as multiple part-time ministry support positions.
Faith Community offers two Sunday morning worship services, both contemporary style services.
Faith Community is an Elder-led church.
