Job Title: Director/Pastor of Children’s Ministry
This is a full-time salaried position in a multi-staff team environment. Salary Minimum is $43,000+ depending on experience.
Position Summary:
The Children’s Ministry Director/Pastor oversees all aspects of the Elevate Church Children’s Ministry, covering children from birth to fifth grade. This includes the development and execution of the strategic ministry plans and objectives for the children’s ministry, ensuring that they align with the vision and mission of Elevate Church. This role will also seek to create a partnership with parents to disciple children. In addition, the Children’s Ministry Director has overall responsibility for the professional, administrative and ministerial growth of the leaders and volunteers for the Children’s ministry.

About Us:
Elevate Church started in 2008 as a new church plant in the northeast part of the Dallas and now is home to close to 250 people. Our highest church attendance in 2016 was Easter Sunday with about 890 worshippers. We currently have a staff of 4 pastors who serve either part-time or full-time. Our target audience is young families between 25-45 years of age (although we have all ages). We are a Spirit-filled church affiliated with the Assemblies of God. Culture of Entrepreneurship
Since our inception, we have always been willing to try things that are new and “out of the box”. We think like church planters when it comes to experimenting with fresh ideas in order to reach people and make our church relevant to our community.
Culture of Reaching the Unreached and Unchurched
Our unique mission is to be a church for people who are unreached or unchurched. The average church in America is focused primarily on reaching the 40% of people who are church attenders. We are intentional about focusing on the 60% who aren’t. Matthew 9:13 “For I have not come to call the righteous but sinners.”
Culture of Teamwork
We believe passionately in doing church as a team; therefore, as a staff we work to not only to grow ourselves but to make each other better. We do this through authentic relationships. Our desire as leaders is to move from doer, to equipper, to multiplier. We teach our core values of Teamwork to every volunteer and leader. They include: Invitation (welcome new people), Connection (build relationships), Motivation (equip and encourage), Preparation (spirit of excellence), and Celebration (celebrate every win). We call them the High Fives of Teamwork. John 17:20-21 “My prayer is…that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. We believe that change and the Kingdom are linked. Wholeheartedly following Jesus means constantly and intentionally engaging change in our lives. Growth requires change. Things that are not growing are dead. Living a vibrant life with Christ means becoming more like Him continually. The moment we think we’ve arrived is the moment we start to die. Colossians 1:10 “Then the way you live will always honor and please the Lord, and your lives will produce every kind of good fruit. All the while, you will grow as you learn to know God better and better.”
Culture of Vulnerability and Transparency
When people begin to relate with us as a group, they tend to be taken back by the transparency of our relationships. We believe that living in the light includes making sure there are no hidden things that trick us into a false sense of righteousness. The first thing recorded in the Bible that God said was, “Let there be light” - God works in the light but the enemy works in the darkness. 1 John 1:7 “If we walk in the light as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his son purifies us from all sin.
Elevate Church Mission Statement
Worship: We will become a regional church in the northeast quadrant of Dallas/Collin County reaching people with the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will be known as a people who worship God with authenticity and passion. We will be a strong witness of biblical truth, love, acceptance, and unity to the communities around us.
Connect: We will reach all generations including the next generation of teenagers and children. We will minister spiritual, emotional, and relational healing to men and women, marriages and families, millennials, and single adults by connecting them to God’s family and to each other.
Grow: We will grow in faith by helping every believer discover and deploy their purpose and spiritual gifts in ministry. This will include developing leaders, as well as affirming and preparing those who sense a call from God to vocational ministry. We will be the church of Ephesians 4:11-13:
11 So Christ himself gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the pastors and teachers, 12 to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up 13 until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ.
Serve: We will serve the gospel to our world by deploying an intentional strategy for missions and outreach, investing a minimum of 10% of our annual income to serve the gospel to our community and world.
Multiplication: We will practice leadership and church multiplication by developing new leaders and launching new churches/revitalizing established churches. These churches will provide opportunities to reach people in new fields of harvest.
Team: We will build our staff leadership team with people of passion, skill, and excellence for each new level of our church advancement. They will develop leaders and equip believers for ministry in the church and marketplace.
Housing the Vision: We will facilitate this vision by establishing a central campus to house the vision of God for His church, as well as other campuses to carry on the mission of Christ through Elevate Church.
Conclusion: These goals reflect Christ’s mission for His church to reach the unreached and unchurched people of our community and world. We will accomplish each of these purposes for the ultimate GLORY OF OUR GREAT GOD we serve.
