Executive Pastor

The role: The Cultivate Executive Pastor will come alongside the Cultivate Lead Pastor, and the entire staff team, to help with the efficiency and effectiveness of the LP and the staff. The Executive Pastor focuses on equipping people to take the next step on their spiritual journey, we are a Family of Disciples on Mission. This position provides strategic leadership for Cultivate in the areas of discipleship, group engagement, missional initiatives, Family Life and Operations. The Associate/Executive Pastor will cast vision to align Fearless Followers of Jesus in a common direction, consistent with the mission, vision and strategy of the ministry.

Cultivate Community Church is a part of the Fearless Family of Churches.  We are a 7-year-old church that is committed to making disciples, developing leaders, and planting churches.

In 2013 for the Fearless Churches, our Elders, along with our staff, committed to expanding our original vision of reaching those who are far from Christ and bringing them to full life in Christ to include intentionally developing leaders and planting churches.  Since then, we have planted two family churches created the Fearless Residency program, and developed a School of Leadership. 

In the Bible, just before Jesus ascends to Heaven, He gives us a command to "Go and Make Disciples." Our vision is to do just that. We want to be active participants in building God's Kingdom.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Operations

• Collaborate with the Lead Pastor to implement the mission, vision, and strategy of Cultivate Community Church.
• Lead staff meetings and oversee administrative systems such as CCB and website updates.
• Partner with Operations leadership and attend Advisory and Operations meetings as needed.
• Contribute to the leadership of the Fearless Network of Churches through strategy and collaboration.

Discipleship & Groups Leadership

• Cast vision to inspire engagement, transitioning attendees from passive participants to a Family of Disciples on Mission.
• Lead discipleship strategies, group health, and empower leaders to foster spiritual growth and mission.
• Manage group staff, resources, and the related budget.

Care Leadership

• Oversee care systems, shepherding teams, and recruit/train volunteers to support those in crisis.
• Lead the Love Fund team and provide spiritual care to individuals as needed.
• Participate in the pastoral on-call rotation and manage staff and related budgets.

Missional Initiatives

• Cultivate vision and structure for mission-driven living and outreach.
• Oversee initiatives in partnership with local mission coordinators to train and empower volunteers for missional engagement.
• Lead team oversight and budget for missional outreach efforts.

Family Life Leadership

• Guide children’s and student ministry staff in creating sustainable programs that foster identity, belonging, and purpose.
• Equip parents as spiritual leaders through programs, evaluation, and partnership with Family Life leaders.
• Direct oversight of Family Life staff, resources and related budgets.

Facilities Management

• Oversee safety, maintenance, and strategic use of facilities, partnering with relevant leaders and contractors.
• Manage the operations staff and ensure facility teams align with operational priorities.

Experience:

• Preferred four years’ experience in church ministry.
• Preferred four years of proven ability to develop, lead, and motivate volunteer teams.
• Demonstrated ability to recruit, develop, and empower volunteer leaders in healthy ways which promote their spiritual growth and further the ministry of the church.
• Excellent communication and listening skills – ability to consistently encourage and support others.
• Strong logistical skills: Attention to detail, ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks concurrently, and objectively apply problem-solving skills.
• Preferred bachelor’s degree in a ministry field or equivalent experience.

Member or willing to become a member of a Fearless Church within 6 months of employment.
