OVERVIEW
The Executive Director is a fully devoted follower of Christ with experience in effective goal setting, staff development, and high-level collaboration with teams within a multi-site church setting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Knows, understands and executes the heart, vision, goals and desires of the Lead Pastor.
- Is a spiritual leader who has a heart for serving his pastor, staff and congregation.
- Helps the church grow sustainably and in a healthy way.
- Works well with the Lead Pastor and oversees all leadership teams.
- Ensures effective communication between departments.
- Workswith the Lead Pastor to give leadership and oversight to staff.
- Together, with the Lead Pastor, leads and fosters relationships and communications with Trustees.
- Sets the agenda and leads all Church Council meetings, along with the Lead Pastor.
- Builds relationships with key leaders within Rush Creek
- Gives oversight to all major projects. (buildings, land purchase or sale, etc.)
- Manages and leads the everyday activities of the church staff.
- Supervises staff in a way that maximizes ministry effectiveness.
- Creates systems and processes that further the church’s ministry objectives.
- Aligns the ministries and departments of the church around the church’s core vision.
- Facilitates an annual/semi-annual strategic planning process to evaluate the ministry effectiveness of the church that concludes in an effective and measurable plan.
- Maintains an awareness of current trends and best practices within ministries of comparable size.
- Assists in maintaining collaboration within all staff teams.
- Home campus will be Green Oaks, but rotates to other campuses once a month
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to manage people and relationships.
- Detail-oriented and good with implementing systems.
- Experience with budgets and finances.
- Empathetic to the needs and concerns of the entire staff.
- Ability to see the big picture but pay attention to the small details.
- A servant leader who oversees the business aspects of the church, rather than a business leader that oversees
the ministries of the church.
- A follower of Jesus Christ and have demonstrated faith through full immersion baptism
- A calling to pastoral ministry.
- Five years of experience managing large teams in either the church or business world.
- Excellent verbal communicator; comfortable speaking before large groups of people.
- Able to speak the truth in love and deal wisely with conflicts among the staff and church family.
- Willingness to operate within our Rush Creek’s statement of beliefs.
- Ability to engage people of all generations and diverse backgrounds in the ministry of the church.
- A lifestyle congruent with the biblical requirements for leaders (1 Tim. 3:1-13; 2 Tim. 2; Titus 1:5-9).
CLASSIFICATION: CENTRAL/SALARY-EXEMPT
